World of Warcraft have 4.8 million subs

i really would love to see how much people are still sub , don’t even know or don’t care and are not playing

Guilty I as charged. I have many many alts myself.

I mainly brought that thought forward because I’m one of them. I’ve pretty much had my sub going since late 2008, even though I’ve been away from the game for more of that time than I’ve been playing it.

It doesn’t site a source on any of those player counts/ages

What you can track is actual participation numbers in end content, how many raids at all levels are completed, how many mythic+ dungeons at all levels of difficulty, and how many serious PvPers there are. All these numbers are down dramatically, and we don’t have numbers to track when casuals stop farming old content because they didn’t like the new.

A big issue is that new expansions seem to be designed to attract the type of “cyclical subscribers” who buy the game and a month of gametime and then move on to the next game. Why bother to make an attempt to retain them if they’re going to leave anyway?

And also the assumption that regular subscribers would never leave because they’re all too addicted. So why make any effort to retain them when you can just bloat their time played and drag a few more MAU’s out of them with timegating.

And then there’s the people who bought the game intending to play throughout but ended up quitting after finding out that the hype didn’t play out into the actual game.

Are they still in denial?

WoW’s own API doesn’t support anywhere near those numbers lol.

feel good to play the number 1 MMO …

50K viewers on Twitch , while Lost ark + FF14 have 25k combined …

Here’s how you know that dudes sources are bogus: one of them is a website saying The Division 2 is one of the most played games for the week, rofl.

You’re right, it’s a lot higher lol.

lol bro your taking way to much asmongold flavored copium ff14 has reported around 80,581 according to steam metrics add in console ports you get around another 15-20k thats 1/5th of wow player base on its worse day reported

It’s also fun because they are currently contributing to the large sub numbers and could do their part to make the number look more like what they think it should be

thanks you Sabbia for boosting that sub number :star_struck:

If wow were in a healthy state for sub counts: why do they never mention sub counts but only ‘monthly active users’? Or better yet, we know they have the tech, but what about a count of unique players to the game to rule out bots/multiboxers?

ff14 only recently came to steam and has it’s own dedicated, and seperate, launcher
