World of Lotuscraft

-Dear Blizz
I believe you’re well aware that you’ve lost the war against bots, real money transactions and 3rd party gold purchasing. So lets move on from the defeat and march towards a solution.
The real issue is why they’re doing it.
“Black Lotus”, that over-farmed herb that most everyone hunts in the elitist driven culture that has become Classic+.
Now, be that as it may, the problem isn’t with the Black Lotus, but the organized syndicates that farm it on a 24x7 basis for the sole purposes of selling to pool gold in a consolidated effort to sell it in a real money transaction.
Depending on server populations, its getting bad. Sulf is at ~300G per flask atm.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that you didn’t intend for a consumable to cost 1/3 of an epic mount.
So, we need a solution. Something that would pull down and stabilize the price of Black Lotus… oh wait… yea… you figured it out already in TBC.
Make.Them.A.Random.Chance.On.Herb.Gather.For.Herbs.Over.Level X…

There is literally no reason why you shouldn’t do this at this point.
Spare me the #nochanges, we’re so far beyond that I chuckle every time I hear it.
At least have the class to invest some effort into correcting the problem you made from deploying Classic+ in this manner.

If the solution put $$$ in activision stock holder pockets they would do it 10x over

Not gonna. We’re not beyond the idea of keeping Classic as vanilla as possible. A few mistakes and compromises don’t “get us so far beyond that”. That changes nothing.

#nochanges

That said, they may need to put more effort into crushing lotus farming bots. As a regular lotus farmer on Fairbanks, I’ve started noticing some suspicious hunters with nonsense names spamming eagle eye in Burning Steppes. Haven’t seen them in the last several days though. So maybe they are bringing them to swift justice?

Part of the problem is there’s too many people playing on just one layer. Open world resources are few and far between when there is that much competition within a zone.
But there are much bigger outliers over there that has put sulfuras economy in the position its in.

Is sulf still only one layer? I’m surprised as its till locked and from what I hear has a q every night.

They never started to fight.

I think the fact that classic is rapidly becoming blatantly play to win is a bigger issue than #nochanges over herb spawns. There does need to be some sort of fix for RMT.

That is incorrect. Blizzard has been fighting against these 3 things for 16 years, and will to continue to fight them as long as they are in business.

Blizzard never started a “war”, or defined “winning/losing”. Do Las Vegas casinos? They too fight against cheaters every day.

The rest of your suggestion is based on Black Lotus – as if all the “botting, real money transactions and 3d party gold” was about Black Lotus. That seems extremly unlikely to me.

But my opinion does not matter. You made a suggestion to Blizzard, and if that suggestion helps Blizzard improve the game, great!

I think most expansions DID have a rare herb, which was 10x to 30x the price of other herbs. I saw that in several expansions – so yes, that was “intended” by Blizzard. And those herbs were used in consumables.

But Blizzard did not “intend” or “plan” prices of things in the AH. They don’t micro-manage each server, based on a set of “prices that Blizzard wants”. AH prices are controlled entirely by players. The general rule is “the price is as high as players will pay”.

Right now Black Lotus costs 50g-59g on Azuresong. 88g-94g on Atiesh. 104-120g on Mankrik. 217-225 on Sulfurus.

217 is a lot! Who is paying that much, and why? It’s probably PVP, right? Maybe prices are higher on pvp servers.

I got a good laugh for you here then. #nochanges

In case you haven’t figured it out. Nochanges isn’t a statement of how the game is. It’s a statement of desire. Derp

Correct. The prices of everything is higher on pvp servers. Similar to how everything is more competitive on pvp servers. They generally draw a more hardcore, competitive crowd and prices are going to be more inflated due to people farming more gold on average. It’s really annoying but that’s how it is.

You’d think people take pve more seriously on pve servers but that’s not the case if you compare top raid speed clear times for example. Unfortunately though, on a lot of these servers, inflation is getting out of control, partly due to the nature of the players, among other things. IMO blizzard should look at this and assess whether there are any measures they could take to balance out / aid the economy. Server populations (a blizzard decision) has had a direct impact on market demand. So I have a hard time accepting that this is as simple as a player created problem.

nah bro. YOU need a solution. try leveling a mage. get it to 60 and start farming if you need gold for black lotuses so badly. im so tired of reading people’s forums posts about how the game is too hard for them.

I also am not a huge fan of this particular solution to the gold inflation issue. Does this not seem a little extreme to you? If everyone is required to have a particular class to farm on, in order to keep up with market prices, does that not indicate that there might be something wrong or highly exploitative with said class? I’m not advocating for changes but it does raise some questions. I know this is how it’s always been in vanilla but it was never so apparent, or necessary for every player to have a mage farming alt. Stupid imo.

and it is not required to flask for any raid. understandably, people will be mad that mages are the best at farming gold. unfortunately, your opinions dont matter.

Yep, nothing is required and nobody’s opinion matters. No point in forums or anything at all for that matter.

that is correct

Sulfuras is one of the most tryhard and sweaty servers with guilds like Grizzly what did you expect to happen? This is a player created issue where a few guilds on Sulfuras have stockpiled the vast majority of black lotus and flasks for progression.

This is a player created problem not a game created problem, don’t expect Blizzard to hold your hand this isn’t retail.

there are absolutely flask requirements in this game… Try being something other than the most efficient healer in the game.
