How people are treating Classic would be like if we had the opportunity to go back and refight a war way back in the past with the weapons and technologies we currently have today. It would be completely different.

Make a guild that doesn’t use buffs. It’s that simple. Stop living in the past, some of you people sound like that 50 year old obese man who was once a cool guy in highschool… Those days are gone and now he wants it to be like it was or make everyone miserable like him. Don’t be that guy.
My guild told tell me to log off my main to conserve my buffs. I told them I’ll play what I want when I want.
My guild asked me to log off to save my buffs. I did so because I’m a team player and am capable of not playing WoW on 1 character for a few hours
Oh. You’re right. Being a team player = letting others dictate how you spend your game time.
Funny thing is, if they had advertised that’s what they do before I joined I wouldn’t have joined.
You do you. I’m not so desperately dependent on this game that I can’t survive a few hours without playing it
Huh, that’s quite a stretch you went for. Mind explaining the logic behind how you came to that assumption?
I only have a couple hours to play after work sometimes, if that’s what I choose to do. I’m going to spend it how I want to. I’m sorry that’s so threatening to you for some reason or somehow makes me a lesser person.
The assumption that I can go a few hours without playing? Easy. Do it all the time. Kind of a fact and not an assumption
Again you do you.
Assuming I’m frothing at the mouth trying to constantly play the game. You’re being intentionally obtuse.
Only with zg gear were we able to get max hit. And in aq/Naxx like you said, so many pieces have hit crit and spell power. We get really powerful starting now.
I only spoke to myself. Never said anything about you. Maybe you are being a bit defensive?
Right, that wasn’t implying what I said before. If you’re gonna call someone out at least have the stones to back it up instead of hiding behind telling someone they’re defensive.
So salty over some buffs. I’m sure your guild is so happy to have you!
Yes we’re all tough internet warriors here lol.
Could be worse. I could be a guild sheep.
People get so salty over their buffs. Imagine working hard at the game…to not play the game.
We get it, they don’t like their guild mates, and the idea of spending 1 hour with them Instead of 45 makes them upset. But actively saying someone isn’t a team player for not doing what they tell them to do when that was not the agreement when someone joined the guild? That’s pretty sad.
This is why parsing is toxic, to parse it requires everyone in the raid be trying to parse and get world buffs and the like. If someone doesn’t want to do that then suddenly they are not a “team player” for not wanting to do what the parsers want. If you are a parsing guild? No problem, include that in your advertisements and be transparent before people join. Don’t try and change it up after people are pot committed and guilt people because you decided to change the rules.
I specifically sought out a guild that wouldn’t make world buffs mandatory, when the officers tried to push for them to be more mandatory I called them out.
Parsing isn’t toxic. It’s a tool. People are what can be toxic. Some guilds love to parse, it’s where their enjoyment comes from. Nothing at all wrong with that. I’ve been with guilds that aren’t at all toxic that parse very well.
People need to find groups that fit them. If they find out that the other 39 have different goals from themselves then it’s probably time to move on.
if I point my hand at someone and squeeze my finger do they die? Now put a gun in my hand and repeat the experiment.
Of course people are the problem, you would have to be an idiot to think I was directly saying that the tool was the problem.
Doesn’t change that the tool is being used as the primary mechanism to enable toxic behavior.
Tool used responsibly, and for improvement? Is very good. Tool used to guilt people and treat them as lesser guild mates? Toxic. You callin someone a bad team player for not wanting to do what parsers want them to do is a perfect example of the toxic mindset.
If I hit someone in the head with a hammer do I punish and call out the hammer? Hell no. Metaphors aren’t your friend here. Parses, like the hammer, are all about the person who wields them.
Parses and logs can be used responsibly to help players improve by finding areas of rot in their play. If a player finds a guild that uses logs in a manner they don’t like then they are free to leave and find groups that share their play style
And if someone joins a guild, knows their philosophies and ignores them then yes they aren’t team players
