Is the game creating this additional folder next to the WoW folder?
I saw it too, deleted it. Nothing happened.
Hey all,
This folder is a special log folder we’re using for a problem some players are having with their in game shop. We just put this in a little while ago, so sorry for any confusion. You can safely ignore it unless you end up having shop errors - in which case we’ll ask for information from it.
Thanks for the response.
As an update - the folder appearing in that location at all was a bug with the original implementation of the logging. Here are the two folders that can be safely deleted if you run into them, by default:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Worl <- Delete the Worl folder
C:\Progra <- Delete the Progra Folder
The bug hasn’t quite been fixed yet, but in a future build of the client, they’ll be located here instead:
(Your WoW Install path)\_retail_\Logs\Checkout.log
Don’t you think its a good idea to tell people what you’re putting on their computers so they don’t have to go to forums to find out?
Suggestions are not our department. We’re just here to help with the tech aspect of things. If you want a readme.txt or something that’d be better suited for the battle.net app feedback forums, but the core problem causing these logs to show up in the wrong location should be fixed in a future build of WoW. Because of the way logging works it’ll need to be a major patch so while we don’t have an ETA on exactly when the move is happening, you’ll want to check again with each major patch (ex. 8.3.0, 8.3.5 if that is another major patch number, etc.)
