During legion, we actually have seen a Nathrezim paladin so … considering , it would be quite FAR MORE acceptable to be able to see a Worgen or even any other playable race to be paladin - role-playing wise.
Worgen are not human, they can only appear to be human. The pack form is not just another druid transformation, it is a dangerous and uncontrollable curse.
Holy milkbone!
Worgen are not human, they can only appear to be human.
That’s a complete falsehood.
The pack form is not just another druid transformation, it is a dangerous
Of course it’s not, that’s why it’s use was banned by Malfurion… Like I said, it’s “malfunctioning”.
and uncontrollable
The uncontrollable thing is not true anymore though, through the rituals now known by the Night Elves and taught to the people of Gilneas it very specifically can be controlled.
curse.
False, it is not a curse, not anymore, not in the form it currently takes in the Worgen of Gilneas. With their human minds back in full control many of them now rightly consider it a gift… To them it is a boon, as it greatly enhances their senses, their strength, agility, and stamina, and makes them almost completely immune to the plague of undeath… Perfect Paladin candidate, if you ask me.
Regardless of any of this, in AskCDev round 2 it was stated that the powers that created Worgen are rooted in the Emerald Dream and the holy power of the goddess Elune.
HOLY POWER.
There is nothing, nothing at all, stopping them from being Paladins of Elune, like Delas Moonfang is. Their “curse” does not come from darkness at all, it comes from a literal god who’s power is Light based… Again, perfect Paladin candidate.
Give us Worgen and Night Elf Paladins, Blizzard.
wtf are you talking about? you’re clearly very ignorant about wow’s lore; the worgens are created with druid magic, which is nature magic. or maybe the druid class had it all wrong and their talent and spells shouldn’t be nature but shadow magic.
they call it a curse because they didnt know wtf it was nor knew how to control it, just like how they claimed all Orcs are Evil and how the Scarlet Crusade believes they are the one true Paladins and the “minor” races like the dwarves dont deserve to be a Paladins.
I don’t think humans can shoot flaming globs of lava from their fingertips irl.
You might be getting hung up on the specific language, and WoW humans are nothing like actual humans in terms of their origins, and only like a very specific subset of humanity in their culture.
No wow humans are just like real humans. And being a shaman isnt all about shooting fire tips from your fingers.
I didn’t realize us humans descended from the stoneborn servants of intergalactic demigod titans who were corrupted by lovecraftian monsters into becoming flesh and blood.
I learn new things every day.
Dude, first my honest apologies on being a bit salty on a previous reply.
Secondly; in my humble opinion I do believe that humans in wow (and as in any other role-playing game) considering it’s diversity traits, adaptability, etc should be able to pick whatever class they want - including shamans.
Any race that can be a priest should have paladin imo
High Elves (and of course Blood Elves) learned how from the humans.
The Draenei came up with their Vindicators long before crashlanding on Azeroth.
The Zandalari and Tauren Paladins are Paladin-equivalents. The latter are technically sun druids, but their powers are otherwise so mechanically similar to paladins that ingame they are represented as such.
The former are more warrior priests of the Loa, but again, their powers from the Loa are so similar to Paladins (despite being a bit different) that they are represented in-game as such.
Kul’Tiras and GIlneas were part of the Alliance of Lordaeron. It was only with the launch of BFA that Kul’Tiran paladins were missing, and so far I have yet to see a reason why beyond apparently they are more tide-magicians rather than Light focused.
Gilneas is an even bigger mystery regarding Pallies. It hasn’t been confirmed if the Worgen curse removed their ability to be Paladins.
Night Elves would likely have Paladin-equivalents by now, esp. since the priesthood of Elune is a warrior priesthood. And they’ve been alongside other Alliance Pallies (and the Argent Crusade) long enough by now that, much like the one in Legion, they can figure it out.
Blood Elves temporarily were Blood Knights and vamped on a Naaru to access the light. From what I understand in post-TBC, they have since gone back to having their faith and are empowered by the new Sunwell (no more Naaru vamping). So for a little while they weren’t true Paladins, but I would say since Cataclysm they most certainly are.
And as mentioned above — the first human paladins were a mix of pious knights taught holy magic and priests taught to fight.
Turalyon was a Priest at first, while Tirion and Uther were knights at first. Of course, now we all know them as Paladins. I think Saiden was also a Knight and same for Agamand (or whatever his name was – the 5th one).
but its too hard to learn to be a paladin within what, 10-15 year so might as well learn to become a monk as a night elf (sarcasm)
its Fing rediculous that Kul’Tiran and the Night Elves never thought to learn the way of becoming a paladin when they spent all that time fighting along side paladins; especially for Kul’Tiran but can just pick up becoming a monk in 1 day. The training the monks have to do through is so much harder than what it takes to become a paladin. Monks have to train their bodies to an extreme since they fight with their body while a Paladin just need to have the mental ability to channel the light through their body and the ability to fight with weapons. Monks also channel magic similar to paladins but they use the mist instead.
for societies that have countless elite warriors or knights they shouldn’t be hard to become a paladin; because the original members of the silverhand were all former knights but 1. And it took them only months to learn how to channel the light enough to become paladins.
The thing about spending times with the Alliance is, a High Elf and the only original Paladin of the order of Blood Knights that didn’t drain his holy magic from a Naaru; Mehlar Dawnblade was a pupil of Uther. So during the 2nd war to before the fall of Silvermoon during the 3rd war, High Elves took up the training and became Paladins but Night Elves and Kul’Tirans never bother to is plain stupid.
