Lorewise it makes no sense for Worgen to be unable to be monks, unless a bitten Human would lose his chi powers.

Or there's the rage that the worgen are constantly fighting against making balance of mind nearly impossible to achieve. That would certainly affect ones ability to use monk abilities.

Monk training would be the perfect antidote to that.

Think along the lines of what Vulcans do. They do it because they are more violent inherently, not less.

In other words, monk is the perfect class for a Worgen, so he can manage that rage better.

This. Lore-wise you need to be tranquil and at peace in order to be a monk. Worgen can't be monks because the Worgen Curse causes a constant rage deep inside. They simply cannot be tranquil. Goblins can't be monks because, errr, because they like gold and explosions and backstabbing each other for profit? Because Worgen can't be monks, that's about all I got for reasoning there.

I just wish someone had asked during an interview or QA session, but I feel like it's kind of been forgotten in general

They filter the questions so that souldn't necessarily be answered. I am hoping they will add ways for us to unlock new class/comboes as the story progresses so they wouldnt have to start in the starting zones like allied races.

For example to unlock night elf paladin you need to level a paladin and do the class campaign and unlock it with the quest chain. These night elves would start at the stormwind embassy or Teldrassil before the tree burned (if the events in BFA DIDNT OCCUR). Or dranei rogue... Recruit rengari into the alliance. Or dranei warlock defeat the cult of draenor warlocks in wod and convince them to fight for the alliance. Night elf warlock. Recruit satyrs into the night elves offering cleansing. Some would choose to stay as satyrs because they like there power. Other would be cleansed and offer satyr customization to night elves. Anither oppurtunity would be to add night elves paladins after unlocking the night warrior skin tone.

That way you upgrade your racial cosmetics and get more class comboes and you learn why they are now playable and skip starting zones.
Goblin monk would be awesome. Almost as good as Ztroll locks.

Give me Goblin monks and I'll never ask for anything ever again blizz!

I dont even care if it doesnt make sense lore wise I just want my favorite race and favorite class together!

They make sense as brewmasters more than gnomes... They even have an alchemy racial so there beer should be good. And Im pretty sure a mafia guy with fist weapons would be there version of monks. And they could even add them because they learned about profitting from kung fu movies. Beer and fisticuffs is plenty reason for most races to be able to play them. As for worgen they are literally in worgen form to fight. Druids of the pack fought in worgen form with no weapons... Change fists of fury to claws of furry and you got feral druids that punch and kick instead of being a cat (why do worgen need to change to a cat when they are werewolves?) Lol

I’d vote against that since the whole point of a monk is constantly trying to maintain that balance. If anything it should fit the race even better.

Aside from that point, Worgen players undergo a ritual that gives you control of your inner beast.

There’s currently a Goblin monk in the class hall... so....

To be fair, every starting zone needs a good overhaul to catch up with current lore.

Every zone could really use an update, but it's just extremely unlikely that they will ever do a Cataclysm level of overhaul for old zones.

But if nothing else, I'd like to see more class options for the older races. Goblin and Worgen monks work for me.

I disagree. I don't think we should retcon and remove most of the historical lore, regardless of whether it perfectly aligns with the latest revision.

This is fantasy. Everything that is not new is a part of history we can relive, unless it is removed, in which it may as well never have been part of the game at all.

I think they should fix old zones so they are self-contained, adding background and removing pointless fetch quests. Questing could be entertaining rather than a punishment for new players and people who have more alts than the devs approve of.

I get that, I just hope something comes out of all the little hints and teases. I guess the real indicator will be wether or not the monk animations get updated with their models (they should be regardless for sake of toy costumes), but all that effort has to mean something.
Monk for goblin and worgen would be awesome. I guess they could have those classes start in the orc and human starting zones since they weren't in Cata.

You know that logic doesn't make any sense especially at this point.
I don't know about Worgen, but personally I think the Goblins are too obsessed with material wealth to achieve the necessary spiritual enlightenment to be monks.

And I prefer my Goblins that way.
I mean, Worgen won't even need Fist Weapons... their claws already are.

Wowhead has Eredar skin colors for Draenei in the dressing room. You might be on to something here. XD

If you think about it lore wise is being too stereotypical ignoring other races don't share the same value.
I've been holding on to this name for a while in anticipation of one day getting a worgen monk =(
I would roll a goblin monk. Doesn't make any sense they can't be monks. I mean, the whole timeline excuse... uh, yeah, guess what? My Nightborne hunter is currently doing stupid Cataclysm quests so it isn't any excuse now, Blizz.
The only reason they can't is starting zone (Before anyone brings up the Allied Races, they all had chances due to being in contact with the Tishui and Huojin Pandaren before joining the Alliance and Horde.

Lightforged? T'Paartos is a freaking monk yet that's not a choice for them for some Loa forsaken reason.
Void Elves? Well they are Blood Elf exiles, Blood Elves can be them and the void doesn't interfere with chi.
Dark Iron Dwarves? Well half of them joined in Cata, they had as much time as the main races to learn it.
Kul'Tirans? Well there are Pandaren in Kul'Tiras already, might have been in contact already.

Highmountain Tauren? Learned during fight against the Legion from Horde and Alliance Monks.
Nightborne? See above.
Mag'Har? Could have trained under Horde Monks during Warlords of Draenor, Also one of the Followers the Horde get's is a Laughing Skulls Orc Monk.
Zandalari? They had contact with the Pandaren before any of us did, you REALLY think none of them learned how to Monk?

Goblins and Worgen could have easily learned after Cata, in fact there's a sodding Goblin Monk in the Monk Class hall at the top of the inn.

And if we are getting more abstract, the Vrykul we get in the same class hall was trained in the Vrykul way, and said it seemed very similar to the monks we play as, ergo any of the races could come up with something similar, Gallywix in particular knows how to fist fight, cause in the Alternate Siege of Orgimmar, GALLYWIX PUNCHES GARROSH.

I always like to point towards Orcs & Trolls when people try to use this bit of logic. Orcs have a racial ability called Blood Fury, while Trolls have Berserk. Both of these races have been warlike and bloodthirsty for ages and ages, yet they can be Monks.

Saying Worgen are somehow outside the realm of possibility just sounds silly when you actually start looking at all the other races being Monks. As for Goblins? Show me a Goblin who wouldn't want to learn to harness Chi for explosive purposes and punch things with electroshock boxing gloves! ♥

Right? I love how the first thing people go to is they’re too angry and uncontrollable, but you literally do a quest in the starting zone where you gain that control of your rage. They are not feral Worgen, they are a more civilized brand of monster.
