Worgen Customization Mega Thread

It’s crazy difficult to find a good Worgen thread these days and that the old ones need to be rebumped each time to share some kind gesture towards them so they don’t feel like being left outside.

Fun Fact.

The Worgen skeleton has bones for tails because they share skeletons with Saurok and Saberon.

Love this thread. Very comprehensive with its visual references.

Yeah, I saw that image posted on twitter with bones.

Not just that, but female worgens didn’t have any bones, or anything that they shared a tail bone with at all, yet come 8.2.5, they suddenly now have a tail bone, which they still have to this day. Open up Blender and you can easily see the tails no problem. Tails are coming, I’m telling ya.

I sure hope so. Maybe that means Saberon can get a female model too.

Everyone forgets the lack of Taunka females xD

If they give an option to automatically toggle off the worgen form out of combat, then I’d ask for unique Gilnean customizations

  1. Victorian and Edwardian hairstyles for both sexes

  2. Hat accessories, not gear

  3. Monocle options for males

  4. Lockets, pendants, body jewelleries

  5. Scarred faces

  6. Darnassian “Leaves” on hair

  7. Worgen eyes(for human form)

  8. Druidic markings

  9. Thin human body option

I love these suggestions~

I know that my suggestion will be unpopular, but i’d like to remove/replace things for the human form:
Removing black color skin as an option - it’s not by racism but to reflect the fact that Gilneas was really isolationnist at this time unlike Kul’Tiras which was founded by Gilnean settlers but didn’t close their harbors and borders.
It’s hard to imagine Gilneas welcoming people from the south knowing this.

It will also reflect the fact that Stormwind is more cosmopolitan and give some uniqueness to the classic human race.
Same idea with the Asian type (if the devs will release it), it should be an exclusivity for Stormwind humans.

Replace some hairstyles with Victorian and Edwardian ones as suggested by Azshulia, again to set the Gilnean humans apart from the Stormwind humans.

Replace Storwind jewelries by Victorian ones.

I know that the more the better but the idea behind is to avoid the Blood elves / Void elves situation where the Blood elves are basically giving nearly all their customizations options to the Void elves while not receiving something from the Void elves.

I agree with this

Unlike Stormwind, Gilneas is pretty much themed around Victorian english culture. The fashion sense, accent, architecture made it so clear

No.

None of this is based on anything about the lore. Don’t pretend it does.

Humans came from stone giants for Christ’s sake…

I don’t think it works because nothing in lore says that non-white humans came from elsewhere or anywhere specific. They are just a thing from all kingdoms Gilneas being isolationist for 30 years wouldn’t change that.

Let’s keep this thread howling. Tails! Straight backs! Black fur!

I just know that all suggestions about customizations for worgen should be put on the table.

I always preferred that worgen, instead of boots, wore shin guards as a form of footwear. And I also wish there were Alliance realm themed shields for us to use. As it is with the footmen of Stormwind.

Customizations and looks that reflect more Gilneas are also good options.
I always imagined my worgen having a long red hair.

Came up with a concept for Worgen Scars that basically serve the place of Tattoos/Warpaint.

Every player Worgen was Bitten/Scratched lorewise before they transformed, so it makes sense to make it a prominent feature.

Worgen Scars

Concept

  • Large Visible Scars on the Face/Limbs/Body.
  • Face/Limbs/Body Scars are all separately customizable to mix and match.
  • Current Scars are Delinked from faces with more Facial Scars added.
  • Mostly Bite/Claw marks.
  • All scars can be visible on both Human Form and Worgen Form.

Facial Scars.

  • Raked, 3 large claw marks across the entire face.
  • Swipe, 3 claw marks across the bottom half of the face/muzzle.
  • Inner Rage, Claw Marks down the sides of the face.
  • Crescent , One Large Curving Scar across nose/cheekbones/muzzle.
  • Torn, large oval scar with jagged edges on the side of face.
  • Fang, Teeth marks.
  • Stocks, Worn/Scratched area around neck.
(Note; I am not including the old facial scars as those are established)

Limb Scars

  • Bitten, Large outline of a Worgen bite on Arm.
  • Scratched, Claw Marks on Forearm.
  • Gored, Large Jagged patches on Arms/Legs with other scratches.
  • Mauled, Bite and Claw Marks on Arms and legs.
  • Alpha, 3 large Claw Marks on Upper Arms/Thighs.
  • Plagued, Plague Burns/Scars on Arms/Legs.

Body Scars

  • Preyed, Large Bite Mark on shoulder.
  • Raked, 3 Large Claw Marks down Back.
  • Rip, Pair of large Claw Marks of chest.
  • Mauled. Many Claw Marks on Chest.
  • Swiped. Many Claw Marks on Back.
  • Clawed. Many Claw Marks on Chest/Back.
  • Animal, Claw Marks across Stomach.

Oh yes, I love all of this and would use this on a worgen toon!

Hm. All of my suggestions for Worgen in this thread feels odd now.

Even the English depict their Victorian era shows (fantasy, and sometimes otherwise) with everyone in them. Yet, in a game with dragons, sentient plants, and the walking dead, too much melanin in a human…

Thank you.

Agreed. Personally… I think that entire ‘suggestion’ is an utterly terrible idea. Hopefully it’s not taken seriously, because there’s no basis in lore, and ‘basis in victorian era’ is a really stupid excuse.

There is 100% no reason for any of that nonsense, and the people who argue ‘but mah lore should mean we’re only white >:(’ are honestly among the worst, and I’m not afraid to say that. It’s pathetic.
