Worgen Customization Mega Thread

Thing is we want it to be optional so people who don’t want it aren’t forced to use it. If you don’t play a Worgen you have no say in if we get a tail or not and if you don’t pay for my account you have no say in rather I would want one or not. I would use a tail on my Worgen plain and simple. When you pay for my account you can tell me I cant use one.

Worgen were forced for 10 years to use one of the worst models in WoWs history we dont want anything forced on others.

Appreciate it Féyrre.

Here’s hoping!

Sure but it seems that right now at this moment. They’re trying. Lot of good things in 9.1.5 so far.

It’s worth it now to try if it ever was.

I mean, yes, they kind of have to try now. Now that it’s clear that there is actual competition. I like the notion of the Shadowlands, but really I just know next expansion, all the covenent stuff will no longer apply. You’d have cosmetics sure, but… eh. It would take a massive change in the game, and core gameplay to pull me back in. I’ll certainly be looking, and as I said I might spend the 15$ to resub if they added a tail option, and check out the state of the game then, but my time is now more limited than ever, so we’ll have to see if it’s worth my time investment again.

Valid.

Blizzard unfortunately waited too long to make changes. It’ll be a long hard climb back out of the hole their stubborn leadership dug.

Made even more slippery and full of sharp rocks and debris by the allegations and the fact we don’t even have to try hard to think they are true.

What I’d want more than just having a tail, would be a game where there’s more than just combat, dungeons, and arbitrary achievement/cosmetic hunting. It is all it boils down to. Could stay being the main focus, just… doesn’t feel like there’s really much of interest outside of that. Wildstar was a game that put all its chips on Raiding, but had a wonderful world to explore and essentially ‘live’ in.

Reason I WANT a tail, is because I like to play out a character, feel like my own person in this world. And I find it easier when I can enjoy the appearance I have for my character, and for others to see that. That is why it is still important to me.

A huge thing wow can take a example out of is Final Fantasy 14. Everyone is all unique and often explore around and hang around in their own communities and clubs and such. The Golden Saucer is legues above what we have in Darkmoon Faire as far as mini games goes.

But yeah, a huge staple of wow isn’t just the gameplay at this point, i’d argue that a big driving force of wow is it’s collect-a-ton type gameplay and everyone having their own looks and appearances, which is why we worgens want so much more appearances. We all look pretty much the same aside from the fur color… You look at a human or a night elf, you can tell them apart from one another even without their gear equipped, you look at a worgen, and all you really have to go by is the fur color.

WoW has a huge potential to be much more than just a raid/arena/mythic+ game, and a good start is yeah, getting everyone to be more unique from one another. Heck, make it so that if you want more custom appearances, you have to unlock it by doing something much like the night warrior eyes or the golden eye blood elves when they first released.

I would have liked Archeage as my #1 MMO if it weren’t for the greed of the publisher, the insane power creep to even stay competitive (in a primarily PvP oriented game). I liked it because there was more than just dungeons. It was a world where you encountered people and could actually make out certain people just from looks alone. (loved trying to see who I can recognize on the Jury just by their appearance, as names are blocked during court trials)
But it was the Sea aspect and trade, that gave it so much more. There was faction conflict, just like WoW has, but it actually felt personal because you could be out in your fishing ship, and next thing you know… you get ransacked! And there was REASON to attack, because they could take your fish and sell them themselves! But again power creep made it unfun for new players.

The more I play my worgen, the more I want a tail and other customization options :frowning:

So I know one request people ask for is a lore accurate 8 foot tall worgen, but hear me out… how about… a 20 foot tall worgen!

Also give worgens actual normal voice lines like Celestine of the Harvest. The chain smoker voice is super distracting. When I first heard Celestine during the world quests back in Legion and her always cracking jokes about squirrels and nuts, I was like yes, that’s it, that’s the voice I want. Or at least have optional voice lines Blizzard.

void elves would disagree with you. any time wasted on that fanfiction race should have gone here. if void elves can be blood elves, tails are fine

Does seem a lot of worgens like being giant.

says the one with a name based on Fenrir, the original giant wolf

The 8 foot tall version is what Blizzard confirmed Worgen to be as the lore correct size and its why Worgen use a Tauren shoulder pads because they should be the same size as current Tauren. But for some reason they were changed ingame to match all the other Alliance tall races and made 6’11" which makes the shoulders look stupidly oversized. Oddly enough in the Worgen HA quest we are sent to capture a female Worgen and she is the correct 8 foot size. Really a lore correct size just would help Worgen stand out among the tall races of the Alliance and helps a bit with the intimidating fact that Worgen are large monsters. The current size is to small and according to those who hate Worgen help with the cute factor… still not sure how you consider a werewolf cute but… make it happen Blizzard. Lore correct size with shoulders the same size and I might just turn shoulders on my xmogs for the first time.

This fix is such a simple thing to do, it should have been done along with that majordomo heritage armor that Blizzard thinks represents Gilneas or worgen in that disappointing quest.

Once again, Blizzard answers to Void Elf players and give them even more customization while still complete and utter silence for us worgen players.

It’s actually upsetting. I mean, I am very happy for more customization all around but I am really, really, really getting tired of us not getting any sense of communication.

So far all we’ve seen are simple texture swaps/things they already gave the other race, where as us worgens need full on actual new cosmetic changes such as tails, hair styles, jewelry, and more. While yes it would be nice if we got some simple new textures as well such as solid black or even the option to finally change hair color for the time being separate from fur color until they implement actual hair styles, the huge worgen stuff probably won’t be until a actual major patch much like how draeneis and night elves received a huge load of stuff just from the release of Shadowlands pre-patch alone.

That being said, Blizzard, we want at least a confirmation that you are looking in to the worgen issue. We got literally the bottom of the barrel worth of new stuff compared to even the other allied races, more so now with void elves and lightforged getting new things. We want to be on par with the Night Elves and Orcs in terms of customization.

It makes sense for them to do the easy stuff first, which is why I harp on new skins. Other cosmetic things understandably take more time, especially when still doing the easy stuff.

Obviously that would be best, but I like to keep expectations closer to reality. That we are far below even being on par with gnomes and dwarves is a giant sack of poo.

Make. Some. Noise.

We should all make a post in that thread. Make sure they hear us.

I don’t think we’ll see anything soon, but we might be able to get them to at least address us.

I foresee them giving worgen smaller shoulders (at least for females) over making them taller. I mean Tauren were apparently supposed to be over 10ft tall, so… don’t expect much height wise

The size of things in WoW is extremely inconsistant. In favor of “gameplay” over lore. Which isn’t always a bad thing, in some context, like… dungeons and raids. But the world is vastly cartoony with building structure and character models, so the environment is hard to even compare to.

They cant make Tauren the correct lore size it would stop them from getting inside a number of areas however we know 8 foot models work ingame just fine. Tauren are 8 feet tall and so are Zandi trolls. Why Worgen arent the lore correct size is questionable. I understand Tauren but ya we know 8 foot works just fine ingame already.

gotta make sure Tauren stay the largest race
