And you’re being a doomsayer. How about we wait for them to explain how it’s going to be implemented before claiming that the sky is falling? Because the way it worked before is how Bluster explained it. And back then it was good for players who enjoyed PvP.
By going off only what’s been suggested, and not making a bunch of blatant assumptions and treating it like a golden age like the rest of you.
And y’all could do the same.
Ilvl difference wasn’t as much cause of strife back then as it is now.
Because the WoD scaling system had extremely positive feedback from PvPers.
I didn’t make a thread ![]()
And if the WoD scaling system is implemented the same way it was before, problem solved.
And yet it got removed.
That doesn’t mean you haven’t said anything. And there’s been plenty of threads.
Not if it’s just the scaling that’s implemented, unless they make Honor and Conquest gear exactly the same the issues we have now will still persist.
Right. Because Blizzard has never removed things that players enjoyed. Certainly “fun detected” is not something that’s used by the players ![]()
All of them complaining about having to do Rated PvP in order to get Rated PvP sets. Which if we’re ignoring the Conquest you get for winning Random BGs, that has always been the case outside of Legion and BFA. 2 of the most hated expansions by PvPers.
No. Its never been like that. If you can’t be bothered to do any of the content, which includes Random BGs at a much slower rate, then you shouldn’t complain.
As a PVE player literally nothing. Blizz just trying to milk for game time sense they didnt develop any content.
I wouldnt mind doing rated if there was a queue for it rather than the barebones system they have now.
honor and conquest gear will never be the same, honor will always be entry and conquest will always be superior to it. even if you don’t do rated, you can still earn conquest and eventually get a full set of conquest albeit slower/with more time investment than someone who does rated and that’s fine
they haven’t announced what they’ll do about the upgrade system tied to rating, and tbh i don’t think they know themselves at this point where they want to go with this change. however, if things go the way i think they will, the rating system will allow for a higher conquest cap per week (faster gearing early on) and conquest gear will be raised to the same ilvl for everyone regardless of rating. by the end of the season/halfway through the season, the pvper who has never done rated should be as equally geared as the rated pvper
obviously this is speculations, but i feel this is going to be an appreciated change and i wouldn’t get upset over it just yet
Go talk to your pve friends who scream why do I have to pvp to get the best gear. They want all the best gear gated behind pve so that pvp players have to do twice the content instead of them, as happened recently on BFA.
Well, the closest thing you’re going to get to that is skirmishes. Otherwise it honestly should stay that way with needing a group.
No, but the WoD system wasn’t universally loved like you think it was.
In order to do basic random battlegrounds, since the ilvl difference is forcing casual players out since there’s no way to close to gap in order to not just be an honor farm.
What? I don’t understand this taunt. I WANT to do random battlegrounds, the issue is that I and others can’t because we quite literally can’t do anything to people with Rated gear.
No one wants that and no one says that, way to prop up a windmill.
Why? What’s so horrible about solo queuing for Rated content?
Yeah nah its a pretty strong windmill. Read your own post. All the good gear is gated behind difficulty. Thats the culture of this game and it hasnt changed since this game has launched and never will.
Casuals will always be at the bottom in bgs and the only differences between xpacs is how hard they get hit.
Unless you’re a tank or one of the few classes were vers is your best secondary you already need two sets of gear.
Next to pure PvP stats gear scaling is the next best solution. You should have to PvP to PvP or PvE to PvE.
I hope they keep the conquest gear upgrades and vault rewarding high ilvl PvP gear but in BGs and Arenas we need all PvP gear to scale to equal ilvl for a fair playing environment. They probably will put an ilvl cap on upgrades next patch though similar to M+ gear upgrades though because PvP is the premier gear currently making mythic raiding a pointless endeavor for gear with how easy it is to push rating in RBGs or buying a 2s carry.
Actually that’s not how it used to work. The good PvPers did rated, and casuals did randoms. Good players with rating only did randoms if they liked them, not because they were required to earn currency to upgrade their PvE gear.
That you think it’s okay to have a (extremely large) part of the player base whose sole purpose is to lose to feed other’s patheticness and never succeed is part of the problem.
The “Rated players don’t do Randoms” is a myth, previously though there was safeguards against them dominating combat (templates/scaling).
All of what they’ve said right now, which is not a lot, and is only something they’re considering, would not change anything other than make people play less.
No, because now I can reroll whatever I feel like playing without the same tedious grind over and over. I get to actually enjoy the game again
It’s literally the system that kept getting referenced as the best gearing for PvPers constantly. That and MoP. Nobody mentions Cata because of Legendaries and I’ve only seen a handful of people refer to Wrath.

The fact that we need a queue to do anything in the game is pretty bad imo. I’ve heard the benefits of the solo queue and would rather them focus on getting PvP right before thinking about a solo queue option. That being class balancing and a better gearing system.
