Walk away, walk away… They’re looking to be argumentative.
depends on when they plan to push 9.0 and the next expansion. a .5 update is generally a lot smaller than a content chapter patch, and we might see 8.3 as early as january. woudln’t bet on it though since they’ll be riding classic for a while.
What, so you don’t think 8.3 will release 3/4 months after 8.2.5 regardless of the latter’s release?
I am ‘imagining’ we are paying the same sub for less content over the course of time, that’s what.
I can’t play the game without paying the sub fee. My sub fee is so that I can play the game. Of course the money goes towards upkeep and new content. But we’re not paying monthly for new content. We’re paying to play the game. You’re just twisting it to fit your bitter narrative.
Content-wise yes. But coding-wise no.
PTR isn’t live. So no, not wrong.
Except you’re not.
It’s not releasing when you want it to, so it’s automatically subpar?
Except I’m not and you’re just jaded and bitter for I don’t know what reason.
Geebus, you people really need to find another game to play and stop with the torches and pitchforks.
With absolutely no logic to their comments. LOL
uh…
doesn’t feel that way to me. blizzard is a LOT more active and talkative these days than they were during vanilla/tbc/wrath. their forum reps don’t hand out with us as much as ghostcrawler or tseric used to, so it feels like they are ignoring us, but on a whole they release content faster now than they ever did.
What even is ‘party sync?’. Is it for raves or biethdat parties or what?
There’s an entire thread on it:
I expect release to be either next week, or the first of October. A lot of stuff is in the patch for the Anniversary event. The will also want the War Campaign stuff out before Blizzcon.
What a wonderful case study of misunderstanding.
No, your sub fee is to pay for an MMORPG evolving game. What, you think people pay money just to access their characters, without the investment we’ll be getting new things on a reasonable time schedule? I’m not twisting anything here.
Coding wise no? So that Party Sync working feature that is on the PTR is just a figment of people’s imaginations? That’s clearly the big feature of this patch and it’s up and running NOW.
No, the subpar service isn’t the content itself, it is the timing of it-- or rather strongly suggested timing.
Ah. Weird.
‘We dont want you to carry your friends, but we’ll put you at max level for the content so can carry them.’
As frustrating as it sounds for some people here, Blizzard right now needs to balance 2 WoWs. And they’ve heavily inferred that they will be staggering releasing of phases in Classic with patches in retail. And phases won’t be coming in a chronological equivalent like their vanilla counterparts, Blizzard will judge when best to turn said content on.
8.2.5 no doubt has to come the Tuesday before the Anniversary event at the latest, so don’t panic that it’s coming in December onwards.
Getting WoD vibes personally.
Would not be surprised if 8.2.5 is drawn out, 8.3 is rushed out, and there is no 8.3.5 as we move along into the next expansion.
Which is exactly what I’ve described to you. But you’re making it out to be that we pay to have new content released consistently and quickly and all the time or suddenly we’re being ripped off. So yes, twisting to fit your narrative.
Once again… PTR is not live servers. It still needs to be tested more and the porting from PTR to live is not a small thing.
And yet we’ve been getting content these past couple of expansions released quicker than we used to in old days. 8.2 took too long, but it’s still faster than what we used to get.
I’d rather have somewhat quality, working content than rushed crap.
You’re simply wanting more faster and I’m simply wanting quality over quantity.
Except it’s all scaled and your abilities and power are scaled to it. So it won’t be a complete roflstomp. It’s similar to Rift’s mentoring system. I think it’s a good idea.
Agreed.
There’s nothing even remotely interesting coming in 8.2.5 that’s going to bring people back from classic.
- A finish to the war campaign that’ll probably take 30 min to do
- Updated models for 2 of the least played races in the game
- Some anniversary stuff
- Party sync
Oh yes. I’m awash with excitement whilst I hear the crickets chirping in gchat and pugging raids cause my guild cancelled raid night till next tier.
Why not unsubscribe until the content comes out?
I just imagine people sobbing while throwing money at the monitor at the same time
The reason we pay subs for mmos is for server maintenance, regular content, customer support, et cetera.
I mean, the real reason, of course, is to make the company money but those are the reasons that have been traditionally cited.
Of course, that doesn’t mean a patch can’t be late on occasion.
@OP I’d bet the release date is somewhere between now and a few weeks after Blizzcon. Seems a safe wager.
Cool. I don’t have friends so won’t miss Party-sync. Doesn’t add any content for me to do… so might as well just wait to see 9.0. Can’t see even 8.3 bringing much.
Come on, you know!.. its that thing, the community has been asking for, forever! We rage on the forums everyday for it… the system includes:
- Better class design
- Pvp vendors
- More/skills abilities
- More stats
- Improved professions
- Reducing RNG
- Removing GCD
- Seperating PVP from PVE
- Adding guild and player halls
- Removing sharding
- Adding systems that promote player choice
- New character customization options
- Removing TF/WF
- Class/tier sets with bonuses
- Class balance

I think BFA in general is a good example of why stuff shouldn’t be rushed out the door to satisfy impatient people on forums.
