Vulpera paladin.
This injustice must not stand!
We need Void Knights ASAP!
I mean, Paladin is just reskinning some mounts. Seems a lot easier.
Totems involve creating new unique totems for each race, and animating them. Well, one new unique totem for each race, animating them, then copy/pasting with different colored effects.
Undead paladins have existed in the lore since Vanilla (Sir Zeliek, the Scarlet Risen), they just weren’t playable. We also now have Calia Menethil as a “lightforged undead”. Forsaken Paladins aren’t the stretch people think it is.
Mechagnome Druid is a stretch though, but I like the idea of them going to Freya, the Titan Keeper of Nature, and learning to channel the powers of Life-magic / Emerald Dream from her. Plus, I just really want to see a Mechagnome transform into a robo-cat or robo-bear like something out of Beast Wars.
Nay!
If Void Elf Paladins don’t have Void effects then Blizzard may as well not bother!
Don’t forget Lightforged Draenei Death Knights. Still literally infused with the Light.
Yeah I keep telling people that all paladin mounts use existing skeletons. Throwing some Light-themed armor on them can’t be that hard.
But I’m not an armchair dev so I’m not 100% on that.
I will play a Forsaken if they can look like Calia.
Sorry, but they’ll be golden holy effects.
If we’re lucky, 11.0 will drop with class skin glyphs that’ll let people change the appearance of their spells and other class assets. Priestesses of Elune with silvery spell effects, Void Elves with shadowy effects for their Priests and Paladins, Lightforged Warlocks with golden spell effects and demons bound in golden chains, etc…
Then they even had a night elf paladin in the Legion class hall.
I wouldn’t even care if they just gave night elves the human horse mount. I literally just want to play a night elf paladin.
Oh I would care.
I would care so very much.
The idea of night elf paladins going live with nothing to thematically separate them from human potential makes me rather cross. If they show up and are just swinging golden swords and throwing golden hammers around then you can’t even pretend those are knights of Elune - they’re just more slaves to the human-centric Alliance theme. It would be disgusting.
If they can’t even give them a mount that indicates some Elune connection then I may very well walk away from this game.
That’s fair.
I’ve only ever played a human paladin and a blood elf paladin. The animations all look the same, I assume it’s the same with ztrolls, dwarves, draenei, and tauren right? They all have the same golden animations. The only thing that separates them is the mount right?
Yeah, for better or for worse. With dwarves, draenei, blood elves, and humans the standard paladin motif is fine - they’re drawing from the same place, though it’d be cool if blood elves could still do the blood knight thing. Tauren and (eventually) Highmountain should really have more fire themed abilities, but the gold works well enough for a Sun paladin. Zandalari just kinda came out of nowhere so idk, I guess they’re fine. They like gold lol
But night elf paladins would pretty much have to be Elune-aligned to make sense, and she has always had a very specific aesthetic that is definitely not garish gold.
Honestly if they’re going to go all the way with the all class/race thing, this game needs class skins real bad.
I will never play one then.
That would be amazing.
I’d love to see their animations in a white or white/blue color. That would be so cool.
Please note the classes that are now available to every race (excluding Dracthyr) are ones that needed no new assets; Paladins, Shamans, Druids, and Demon Hunters all have models that are race-specific and thus need more work to be done in order to be expanded to more races. I wouldn’t be surprised if Druid and Demon Hunter came in groups rather than all at once like Rogues, Mages, Priests, and Warlocks.
Class Skins would just be such an easy win for Blizzard. They could vastly increase player aesthetics options with a few color pallette swaps, and with no balance issues caused since it’s all just cosmetic.
But as long as they keep sticking to this pvp recognizability excuse for why they killed glyphs I don’t know how likely it is. It’s obviously nonsense but it means that they don’t want to spend any resources on re-skinning animations.
I want my Gnome Paladins and Shaman and Demon Hunters and… you can keep Evokers. Not a fan of them, sorry (but if you like them - good for you!).
Absolutely fully agree.
I may get some hate for this but imo pvp is a net negative for this game. So much lost or excused away, pve changes because of pvp imbalances. I wish pvp didn’t exist in wow at all.
