With the state of Diablo Immortal.....Why Dragonflight?

I was on the fence about continuing or not, and they did almost everything right…I wasn’t going to continue if they did borrowed power again or kept alliance vs horde barrier going or keep us locked to the ground for months from launch. I’m giving DF a shot because they are showing positive changes in it.

You haven’t hit the paywall yet, when you do, you’ll see how bad it is.

agreed the whole mobile gaming industry is like the wild west before it got lawmen its outright robbery many of the prices charged for things.

Yes, it’s currently in development. They’ve shown a few things from it already.

Because one has nothing to do with the other. One is a mobile gacha game, the other is an MMORPG. One is done by the Diablo mobile team. The other is done by the Warcraft team.

Irrelevant.

the alliance / horde barrier needs to be there, the game needs an us and them if its removed then pvp should also go since this is a woke trend to make the game less confrontational. Its escapism nothing wrong with that but now the PC crowd is driving the game its going to go from bad to worse IMO.

To add to this, they have already stated that there will be a microtransaction shop, and, to quote them directly, it will ‘be anchored around cosmetics’. What, exactly, this means is vague at best.

All I can say is, be wary.

No, that’s one factor that was killing wow. They have to drop the barrier entirely for PVE players. If you want ally vs horde, go warmode. I look forward to when they allow alliance and horde to que and quest together. We do not live in 2004 anymore, we have no reason to fight. The ally/horde npcs always worked together when things got bad, so why can’t we?

Sounds like it’ll be along the same lines as WoW’s shop, which has never bothered me.

Nah, outdated mechanic that has lost all purpose for the game and the story.

lmao

if it was a true beta then why are they attempting to get PC players to pay money for in game items?, yes i know its live on mobile but to me Beta usually means playtesting, load testing and bug reports, not some underhand way to get PC players to pay cash for a game that is pretty much release except for optimising connections and communcations, lets face it , it cant change much because it has to be in step with the mobile version just as the mobile version needs to be instep with the PC version.

Anyway my last visit to the forums for a few weeks every time here i end up feeling worse about WoW than i did before i came lol

I completely disagree! I enjoy casually PvPing and all, but the whole Alliance vs. Horde conflict has just been…bad. Every time. It’s also when the narrative of the game is at it’s weakest.

The ‘best’ faction conflict was done, and I’m using the word ‘best’ carefully, was during Mists of Pandaria as wanton violence tended to summon the Sha, and there was a narrative point of trying to avoid violence instead of cleaving heads. Otherwise everyone dies.

The players are actually to blame for this. Now before pitchforks and torches with tar and feathers come after me by the player community, Just hear me on this. We the players chew through content so fast that seriously it amazes me that the Developers just allow us to breeze through the content as we do. Then we complain that there is nothing to do so the Developers rush a product out that is all buggy and glitchy. This isn’t just a Blizzard thing most game developers do this. It would just be nice if once we as the players let the developers do their jobs and make a product that was really good and great. Yet what do I know anyways, I am just one of those who just enjoy what the Developers make regardless because it keeps me from going insane.

launches a barrage of tarred pitchforks ablaze with feathered torch fire

This is not the first time Blizz did this. They did this pre-purchase (digital) 6 months before the release of Legion. And they did it on every Expansion… BFA, Shadowlands and now on Dragonflight.

On me I dont have to test it first. I know it has dungeons and raids which I love from the very beginning when I was hardcore and I still love it up to now… now that I am Casual… I would even buy the Collector’s Edition since I have all the Collector’s Edition of all previous Expansions.

I dont mind Diablo Immortal… looks like the game is not for me so I wont play it if I dont like it. But the game is FREE. I would test it but I wont make expectations. The Diablo that I love would be on Diablo 4. Not this one.

All apps from the Playstore are cash grabs! Quick money…

because its my money and I will buy/prepurchase whatever I wish

I’ve been transferring legendary upgrades and gems to new items drops since about level 20 for free.

Sounds like Final Fantasy.

What level are you now?

31, so we will see if/when it gets worse, but so far I haven’t been compelled to spend anything. Upgrading legendaries, upgrading legendary gems, etc.

I know if I ever wanted to compete on the “leaderboards” (lol) it would be p2w but I have no intention of doing that ever.

Somehow people make every single game some super serious online competition for no reason.

I’m also curious how many people that regurgitate the cash grap comments actually played the game themselves or just had their opinion given to them by a streamer.

Like said before, different teams work on different games, but I’d be lying if I said the terrible state of Diablo Immortal didn’t kill my expectations for Diablo IV at least.

Even then, it’s still true that the overall image of the company was damaged due to the blatant cash grab that was Immortal.
