Ok 2-5 vehicle is ok, but 20 come on that when it turns into a vehicle war not wow war. I wish they give us just one blacklist I have never AFK out of any BG and I’m proud to say that but this one may force my hand soon.
You have more patience than most of us, a lot of us have already been AFKing out of this one early
Usually I stick around to see how the first major teamfight goes, then if it doesn’t go well I’ll just AFK out. If I keep getting WG popping over and over I’ll just AFK out right at the start in subsequent games… I’m just not in the mood to slog it out in this bg for a 3rd, 4th, or 5th time lol
The AFK-out rate is pretty high in this bg, especially on Alliance side
I used to love this one but now that I know the “secret” to winning Defense it’s kinda eh.
Basically everyone abandons the castle and moves in a big blob and avoid conflict so the enemy can get no kills. No kills = no rank = no vehicles. Keep taking workshops away to keep them chasing around but be sure you’re not there when they get there or they might get rank and some vehicles. Without vehicles they can’t put a scuff on the wall.
Eventually the counters will be low and the people who haven’t AFK’ed will have nothing to assault with and not enough time to do it anyways.
I figure some seaforium bombs or something would help that can damage walls, thus driving the importance away from vehicles a little bit. They can then tone down vehicle damage since there are bombs to assist. Maybe add another ammo unit on the bazookas too.
grouping up prevents 1 side from getting their kills quick and building up a line of sieges 5 minutes into the game, it does not stop them from gaining kills at the normal rate since you can kill npcs for kills.
if you just sit at the base their ranged will come to you looking to take out cannons, by the time large siege trains start rolling in you will have enough kills to build a cat.
also, boots on the ground players have an important role, you need to protect your vehicles from other players, slow enemy vehicles, and group up to take out enemy cats. being in this position is precarious though, and you need to be smart about where you stand and maintain a good situational awareness.
WG typically builds in intensity the longer the game goes on, so those who see how the first few minutes go before afking are really missing out on the best part of the bg.
Yes but you’re not taking into consideration the revolving door of ragequitters. In one we just did we used that strategy and the Alliance started to quit and rarely had more 36 players for more than a moment before dropping down again.
By the time Alliance could build enough vehicles to do anything, there wasn’t enough time to punch through the zerg who had relocated to the castle.
I guess the bottom line is avoiding actual battle gives you an advantage when defending. Considering Blizz’s tweaking of Ashran a zillion times because one side would just do events and the other the road, they need to do something here to promote battle.
avoiding battle is really only valid at the start of the game.
if alliance players want to revolving door themselves out of every situation that doesn’t hand them the win on a silver platter then they have no room to complain about the faction disparity. those players won’t improve their situation until they stick around and learn the bg.
I’m not a big fan either. I have to weigh if the 30-45 mins has potential. For those saying get a vehicle…okay but there might be 16 vehicles and 40 people (and YES I know that another person can get in most of them). Plus you have to get the rank if you want to get a vehicle yourself. Hopefully it will be tweaked into something better.
