Wintergrasp Vehicles

Nah, now I’m just having fun.

I hate WG it is like you said player vs vehicle and vehicle win 90% of the time.

The vehicles are just overtuned rn, it wasn’t like this back in the day. I didn’t do much of strands in Legion but in WoD, the demos def didn’t hit you as hard as they do now and certainly didn’t do the amount of damage they do rn in WoTLK.

Even Ashran is more enjoyable than WG is, which is sad because I really had a lot of fun in old WG.

I will give you :+1::+1::+1: for that.

improvise. there are certain situations in epics where you can’t go john wayne, you need to back off and get team mates, recognize the situations you can do alone and avoid the ones you can’t and you will be fine.

I’m aware of how to play the game, what I’m saying is that it’s no longer a BG with how it is rn moreso a robot v robot arena.

As I said, a demo hitting you for 80k a pop with chance of critical is ridiculous.

Ashran may be many things, but at least it stays true to Player vs Player and isn’t just get in a vehicle and play Battletanks.

If there are grouped demos, there’s no way in hell you’re going to do anything to them without a turret or vehicle rn, back in the day you could still take out demos without them one shotting you instantaneously. That is my point, you’re supposed to have large grouped PvP combat, not robot wars with a small chance of PvP.

are you 280 ilvl or something? i take out demos all the time. one sitting back and covering the other is problematic, but i’ve never been 1 shot by anything in WG, the siege gun with quarry and ref will nearly 1 shot you, but IoC vehicles are supposed to hurt. think of it like a battle field, if a tank shoots you in the chest with its main turret, you are not gonna live through that.

ashran is just 50 minutes of AoE group fight, tbh it even makes it easy for me when alliance summon faangral, i use his reset to spread my dots on their whole team from a nice safe distance. its not really pvp when i blow you up from 90 yards away.

epic bgs are less about the direct player vs player aspect and more about players working as a team with a set strategy and playing the map right. if you want a focus on dueling dynamics do normal bgs, RBGs, or arena.

You mean you’re not the DK hero Damn, I love the ones that play that part I was thinking that was you. I got a secret weapon for those DK’s that like to play the hero.

pro tip: armory anyone you engage in combat with on the forums beforehand

I think demo/sieges should do less damage to players, but catapault flamethrower doing high damage is fine.

i assume this is why you post on an alt. actual pro tip: if you have to armory someone to look for ad hominem material you’ve already lost. stupid opinions are stupid regardless of the poster’s rating.

I wonder if the demo damage scales with gear. Our health pools will be 350k or so at the end of this patch.

Regardless demo damage is still too high. Part of me likes breaking up the monotony with the tanks/rpgs/cannons but at the same time the damage is still a little silly and op has a fair point.

Saying “just get behind them” isn’t valid here because a demo ram ability has a fairly large hit raidus. Couple that with latency and even the best player will still get rammed and shot.

The whole BG is a little wonky imo. Defense with 16 demos sitting in the keep is near impossible to penetrate and overcome. At that point you are waiting out the match.

Get some rpg… sit on a rise and blast them.

I suggest anyone that gets bored in wintergrasp to do the following.

Any combo of elixir of giant growth, world shrinker, smite’s compass. Bigger you are the better.

Get on the meat wagon mount from preordering wc3 reforged.

Make a /mountspecial macro.

Run at the enemy and spam macro. Watching defensives get popped and people run away like you’re deathwing is fun. If you charge at the enemy raid of course you will be one shot. Find the players off to the side or small scale battles.

I do think there may be too many vehicles for a 40v40 version. The number of vehicles was fine when the battles were 80v80 or more, but not sure it works for the bg version.

I suggested in the Epic Battleground Feedback thread that a possible change could be to reduce the number of vehicles you get per battlefield workshops to 3 (down from 4) and 2 for keep workshops. This means the most vehicles a defending team could have would be 16, down from 24. Offense could only ever have 12, down from 16.

I think that would make it much less vehicle focused - I don’t think Wintergrasp should ever have more than half a team be a vehicle.

I’d also tone down the damage vehicles do, but buff their health to make them more tank like.

I gotta get one of your demos. Most of the ones I hop on are squishy as crap and only hit for like 30k.

I could get on board with all this. :+1:
