Wintergrasp can go to Hell

Is it fair to say you’d want hell to…

Freeze over?

The simple thing which would make everyone happy, is the option to blacklist a BG or two. I personally dislike WG.

But is the customer is always wrong according to blizzard.

Sounds like your describing Allaince AV’s to me lol

If this were to happen in epics, every alliance would have to blacklist WG and horde would have longer queues. Would be like av/IOC before the epics separation…

The ques are already so terrible a good portion of people are using merc mode. I use it all the time. I’m not waiting 15 minutes for a regular BG it’s absurd.

Yea, so let’s not make it worse ty

Not necessarily  …you’re forgetting that a lot of Hordies would blacklist WG too (like me)

So it seems the only people who would actually be affected by a longer queue time are Hordies that like WG, so maybe guys like Inemia or Jarawana etc

Everyone else would be fine

I like WG and would be forced to BL it because that would likely be the only one. Kind of like when I was horde and had to BL AV back in the day. Don’t forget there’s others out there who like different Bgs than you.

Yes, this I see. I don’t consider 3 - 5 people leaving a mass exodus… sadly this is now common behaviour in all battlegrounds.

There are of course weird matches where more leave (I was in a Warsong a couple of weeks back where we lost 60% of the team after the first flag cap!) but to say this is limited to just Wintergrasp to paint a picture of it being disliked is inaccurate. People leaving matches is a failure in the deserter system, not the maps.

I don’t get this because each individual who comes into an epic BG should learn/know for himself or herself how to play the BG.

It just… boggles me if people have the notion that “We must have one leader to listen to at all times or we can’t win!” If enough people in the BG know how to play the BG and others listen to their (collective) direction, the team has a 50/50 chance to win.

But on alliance side, it feels like too many want to be carried in epic BGs. Too many don’t try to learn how to play the BG before they enter it, while they are playing it, or after they leave. That is why alliance loses so many epic BGs.

It is not as if horde always have a supreme leader they follow in order to win. It is more that collectively they understand how to play BG objectives well enough to result in wins a good amount of the time.

This pretty much sums it up for every BG. I don’t much like that “definition of insanity” cliché, but it certainly applies here.

I’d rather watch a 24 hr marathon of people eating McDonalds on ‘My 600-lb Life’ than finish one game of Wintergrasp.

What about people on the east coast?

Those atlantic goons are left in the dark on this one.

Some of them are in this thread too. Premades on discord are telling other players to get good.

The pacific wintergrasp team?

Do you know of anyone from the Atlantic team is on or do I need to start my own east coast wintergrasp squad?

It’s a mixed bag. Alliance lose this a lot. People rage quitting tends to make battle chat painful to follow so coordination suffers, but on those rare days when the plan comes together it’s a beautiful thing. Most runs it’s a blind rush to sunken temple only to die gloriously then watch the mass exodus. I always stick it out till the mostly bitter ends though.

that problem isn’t just in WG though, horde groups are often better coordinated in AV and IoC as well. this is why its hard to take complaints about WG seriously, WG just requires your players to have some semblance of discipline and coordination. you don’t need a massive premade with voice comms to win any of the ebgs, you just need a good plan and players who will stick to the plan and listen to whoever is the defacto lead, which is usually not the official group lead.

8/10 times the “pacific wintergrasp group” aka WGE is not even in a group together, everyone is solo-queuing and just work together well.

Probably depends on what time you play. During non-peak hours the mass exodus is super apparent since they aren’t replenished. Hence the amazing 14-man WG team. And WG is more punishing than most for backfill since newcomers start with Poopfart Rank.
