A few reasons I don’t see this happening:
1.) The Rep Grind. As much as people want to play this race, it isn’t immediately accessible to any new players, who are the most likely to start a new character.
2.) People get attached to their mains. As much as someone may want to race change/level a new character, for the most part, people tend to (seemingly) play 1-2 characters. If you look on realmpop, the most common race/class combos are almost always the first ones available.
3.) There are a lot of new races out now, and there is a bigger pool of races for newer players. Even if they were all unlocked right away, I don’t think they have as much sentiment from a new player as from existing players, so there’s nothing to really draw a new player to them specifically.
