It’s really unfair to the people who play Gnomes and who would appreciate Mechagnomes as an allied race or a customization, just because they might be in a minority, no reason to discard their desires.

I ended up deciding to make a mechagnome. I got the name Dalek Thay, a reference to the Cult of Skaro from Doctor Who. While the Mechagnomes are more Cybermen than Dalek, I think the Dalek are more entertaining.
