Oh yeah, that’s my curse right there. I’m the type to not use comparatively rare consumables in games “because I might need it later”. Then I beat the game and it’s still in my bag. Every time.
Example: elixirs (restores power points) in Pokemon, hamao (restore TP) in Etrian Odyssey, elixirs (full HP heal) in Fire Emblem
Most certainly. Gathering and crafting will make leveling longer, but will make it easier.
Gear-crafting actually being useful is one of the biggest things I’m looking forward to. That and leveling as a paladin will probably be a little on the “uneventful” side of things when it comes to general combat and questing, so working on professions in the meantime will make things more interesting.
Not gonna make the mistake of having a weapon I got at level 10 all the way up to level 30. No sir, gonna learn those weapon skills and craft those weapons. Won’t be wasting too much money, either, since paladin’s first class mount is cheap-o.
Learned my mistake in other RPG’s that racing as fast as one can leads to frustration and burnout. There comes a point when we all must look at games we play and question whether we’re playing it because we enjoy the gameplay, or simply for the sake of the loot at the end of the tunnel. If it’s the latter, then you’re in danger of being burnt out.
id like him to definitively state it; if he wouldnt mind, because from memory not once have they so far announced what servers will look like or which will be available e.g PvP, normal and RP servers… or even whether there will be oceanic servers for that matter.
when they confirm it its confirmed, till then all we have to go on is speculation and guesswork… all we know currently is that they intentionally removed pvp servers from the game in retail and that they are implementing features such as item trading and right-click report to minimize upkeep costs. a logical assumption based on this is that server types and quantities are a massive if not one of the highest costs behind running the game… to this extent how would they mitigate this cost? homogenization of server types.
And so to my point: Stop freaking out. You are reading enormous amounts of unintended information and totally overreacting.
I’m not trying to say this in a bad way or anything. Just take a deep breath and calm down, man. We have seen absolutely nothing to suggest that they’re even considering removing server types from Classic, and everything we’ve seen tells us that they know it would be a terrible idea. Server types will be there. Bornakk has just spent a lot of time on PVE servers. That’s all that means.
This does not imply there are no PvP servers. If you are on a PvP server, you will be flagged for PvP in Stranglethorn Vale as it is a contested zone. On a Normal server you will have to flag yourself or buff/heal a flagged player.
So there are multiple ways to be flagged for PvP in Stranglethorn Vale. None of which exclude the existence of PvP servers.
I missed the part where the blizzard representative; who potentially has play-tested the game or at the least has far more exposed knowledge of the classic-wow’s development, acknowledged that there would be multiple types of servers…
it is an assumption but the implication is that in the only version of classic wow he has experienced, flagging is required to pvp (just like in the retail version of the game). to my knowledge at no point has blizzard or any of their representatives ever implied that there would be multiple server types… we just assumed it, and assumptions arent a good thing right? and to that end id love some confirmation.
I mean we assumed that classic wow wouldnt have sharding, and that didnt turn out well for advocates against it… as i said id like a verbatim blanket statement clearly stating there will be multiple server types and if possible; whether there will be multi-region servers (e.g oceanic)
at the end of the day its totally up to the gm on whether to deliver such a statement, but the fact is all we are doing is going by assumptions based on the scraps of evidence we have… and the latest scrap of evidence atm is that classic might not have pvp servers.
