Will you keep your UI Add-ons in DragonFlight or switch to the new UI Editor

I just started, it was sort of overwhelming at first but I’m getting used to it. I wanted to shake things up but also now I’m realizing how broken my set up will be when the addons aren’t working lol.

It’s going to depend on a few core features for me. If they aren’t implemented in a way that I feel is satisfactory, I’ll keep using the addons that I use.

I’m getting rid of my add-ons. They were a means to an end, nothing more.

Especially when I got wind of addon drama of all things. from Overwolf and wowup.

Why on earth do we need drama for add-ons? I hate digging through menu items and taking hours trying to set it up. I would rather it just does what I need it to.

The default UI was awful. plain and simple

I love Bartender for having so many bars, and it even has it’s own addon to change the shape and color of buttons. I can give my UI a steampunk look, a futuristic look, etc. Blizzard is still sticking to kindergarden neon green and such, not very appealing to me.

But with some luck I will replace Z-Perl (party frames). As much as I like this addon it’s still missing a color coded spell bar after all these years, so it doesn’t tell what spells can be interrupted or not.

And I think moving everything else like the minimap, buffs/debuffs, micro menu, etc is pretty neat, so I’m sure I will still come up with something interesting to look at, just for fun.

This. I used it not only two move the bars location, but because I could have more bars as well.

I don’t currently use any UI addons that change the bars. I find most of the popular ones incredibly ugly to look at.

So this new base one that is customizable while keeping the same general aesthetic is welcome for me.

I’ll try it out.

Doubt I’ll stick with it if it doesn’t do more.

It’s way too late for me, the solution came from others years ago, may as well stick to the one I already know how to use.

This too, as a Druid, I end up using all 10 available on Bartender. Granted 2 bars are filled with teleport/engineering useful stuff, but I never have enough slots for everything I want ready.

Absolutely not. There is nothing Blizzard could do to the default UI to make me change from my current interface.

The changes Blizzard made to the stock UI close like 70% of the gap I would say. Plater + Bartender is still superior but a lot of the functionality of those add-ons is rolled into the base UI. A lot of information is centralized by default and you can move action bars much closer to the center of the screen to keep track of timers. You can also have nameplates stack rather than overlap. I play with default UI on the beta and its definitely not as horrible to play with as it used to be and for 99% of the player-base who does less than the absolute hardest content the stock UI is likely enough for them to do any content they might choose to run.

They possibly also don’t play Druids.

The above method would work for us too, it’s just more annoying to setup.

Clique is amazing if you haven’t tried it. I feel lost without it on healers.

I’ve spent years building my UI exactly how I want it to be. No desire to change anything.

I will keep Weak Auras around for sure, but hope they do something with the name plates that way I dont have to run Plater or other similar name plate addons.

Plater is still a big value add TBH. The stock UI improvements are good but the nameplate changes are fairly minimal.

I generally use a stock UI anyway. Being a non-raider means I don’t have as many requirements as some folks.

I really LIKE the new Dragonflight options though. I was able to really set up a much better layout that I can see easily. It has a third bottom bar I can use/move if I want.

What I don’t like, is that I can barely see the menu options for character, bags, collections, etc. I also can’t see a way yet to make the mini map bigger. I have to open it all the time. Vision is not what it used to be, sadly.

What I will still likely use is Titan Panel for the top bar showing coordinates, currency, etc. I have used it forever and still will.

I plan on dumping as many addons as I can, some you can’t live without but I’ll use the default UI configured to my liking along with a few that I rely on.

I’m using the new UI on Beta. It is a big improvement but IMO not even remotely close to robust enough to replace any addons.

Unless the new blizz UI does everything that ElvUI does, I won’t be switching. I also seriously doubt the new Blizz UI will do everything the ElvUI does.

Yea, the stock one for me just lack a few essential information pieces. Like tracking Flame Shock or CC’s on that target. Seeing important magical buffs that need purging is also very important. I feel if the name plates where updated to look more modern and that info easily shown, I would be good to go at least.

I use stock UI so I’m obviously going to try the UI editor
