Will you buy the next Expansion immediately or wait and see?

It’s wow.
I’ll love it no matter what it is.
I’ll enjoy racing to get professions to max, and to capitalize the market by grinding the reps for recipes and make a fortune.

After that? I’ll get the mounts most were too lazy to get yet and look cool while everyone praises me.
Then I’ll (due to being very active) be THE MAN cause I’ll be a tannk and have some of the nicest gear around while others are in crap. AGain, I’ll make a fortune, ever heard of “WTS Tank skills for mythic run ilvl ect”

And so many other things. I’ll have fun.

Umm excuse me. The Burning Crusade had at least one or a couple of raids released on the date the Expansion came out. So, that is not a lie. I did not call you obtuse. I do not know where you got that, which is a lie on your part.

Gruul, Mags, Karazhan, Tempest Keep, and Serpentshrine Cavern were the BC launch raids.

So now you are trying to tell me because one expansion 12 years ago had raids on release, that your first point is valid in that BFA should have had raids on release, even though Legion, WoD, Panda, etc all didn’t?

I did not say several expansions, I did not give a number. You made an assumption. By the way, you also called me a liar.

But you listed it as a point of fault, even though that is the norm. Burning crusade is the outlier

Learn when to simply say “You’re right” .

I admit to a false point of fault, because I listened to you. The only fault was in believing in what you told me, instead of researching it, and having a fuzzy memory.

I’ll buy it immediately, unless they announce that WoW is going to an action-combat system, or something like that. Action combat is one of the things they could do that would make me quit permanently. But they surely won’t do that, so yeah, I’ll buy the expansion.

He was not right though. The Burning Crusade Expansion did come out with raids.

For me to preorder, the next xpac would have to have a ranged hero class (preferably Tinkerer) or a race I’ve always wanted to play like Ogre or Murloc. So…slim chance. I still feel burned by BFA.

Didn’t Wotlk and Cata as well? I don’t recall the rollout of the very first raid tiers being delayed at the start of an xpac until LFR came into the game, but I may be wrong…

Probably, unless classic entirely captures me or I’ve just entirely lost interest for one reason or another.

If I’m still playing retail I think I will because I will be interested in testing the conspiracy of the A team and B team of expansions. Because the general approval for expansions seems to be that wotlk, mop, and legion are more or less good expansions and cata wod and bfa are bad and I generally agree with it so the pattern is getting hard to ignore.

TBC, WoLTK, and cata all had raids available on release. TBC had all through SSC available if memory serves, but attunements got in the way of accessing them. It was all released and technically available though, you just had to put in the time to get there. In WOTLK naxx was cleared in four days…from expansion launch.

Blizzard started time gating raids in MoP. I specifically remember that happening because I was pretty hardcore back then and the guild was upset that we couldn’t no life it harder.

I would have to research it. I know that BC had raids, so I would not doubt it that WOTLK had some raids at the start of its expansion’s launch. I do not know about Cata. Of course Marthul has the answers to that question. Nice.

i bought WotLK & Cata when they came out. It wasnt until the near end of MoP that i came back for a little while and ended up buying WoD a couple of weeks after launch. i then left and came back near the end of Legion, but still bought BfA not long before launch or just after…do not remember, tbh.

Ill have to wait and see about the new one. Im tired of the time gating and would rather the option to grind out a few reps while i do other things rather than being gated behind hard walls of dailies. also, the hoops one must go through in order to fly…Pathfinder has it that i am no longer interested in even leveling my current toons with any frequency let alone start new ones.

I will probably try out CLASSIC (edit: had retail) because i know a friend of mine is waiting for that to come out. I like journeys and feeling myself grow a bit as i head through the levels. Now, i race to cap because the real leveling takes place via item level rather than physical level. You just dont do squat until you can get your iLevel up a decent amount. You cant even do warfronts until you get them up. And, to make that worse, i heard it was based off that dang neck piece…so yo have to level that up before you can even think about gear leveling.

currently, this guy is at a peak to what i think he will be…its not high at all, but i am waiting on Pathfinder II before i start working on any more toons because this obstacle course of a map is a pain the rear to navigate. SOOO…i have just been doing a couple of emissaries if they give 390+ gear; PvP; and working on WoD pathfinder part II. I am completely uninterested in legion so the chances of me working on anything there until next year (if i am still around) is going to be rare if at all.

Yep. So it wasn’t nostalgia and I was remembering correctly. I can’t provide the link but Fandom has the entire timeline of everything ever released to WoW. Staggered intro raid releases didn’t start till MoP. Cata, BC, and Wotlk all had raids on release day…of course, you had to level and gear through heroics before reaching them, but they were available.

Yeah I didn’t read the whole thread but if you’re arguing about raids being immediately available in the old days the answer is yes, but with attunements and gear requirements. Vanilla was the same way too, albeit they had to scurry to make some since they didn’t have much available. MC was put together in a week, that’s why original item models were basic AF and bosses are generic (besides Rag).

Eventually they decided to redesign it with the rationale of letting people enjoy leveling without pressure to get into raids ASAP. Of course now we all rush to max level to farm content to be raid ready so really hasn’t solved much IMO.

As far as timeline goes we’re at the halfway point were the first half was available on expac launch and the second half didn’t. Doubt it will change in the future.

Edit: by the way I have no idea what the dude who is obviously alt hoping to like posts is trying to prove. I’m right because I’m right, not because you got on all your toons to like it.

A+ cheerleading effort. F for douchebaggery.

Going to wait and see if they continue the Pathfinder/Flying madness.

Yes? Not buying expansion.

Gotta just learn when to say “You’re right, and I was wrong, I’m sorry”

It’s either play WoW or do something productive.

And we both know that’s not happening.
