Will Wrath servers be fresh?

Hi,

I’m a little confused.

Once WOTLK releases will there be Fresh Wrath Servers(Brand New Servers) or will we continue our TBC Characters into Wrath on the TBC server we are currently on?

Thanks in advance.

That would be AMAZING. Ok if they offer a fresh wrath servers I’ll play wrath. But they’d have to block boosts and I’m sure they will not be willing to do that. We begged blizz to do something like that in tbc, with no boosts servers and the retail players practically lost their minds.

your choice. you can roll on a currently-dead server, and it will be fresh.

Not that has been announced.

This is the option currently.
Or as Robokapp said you could transfer/reroll but on an existing TBCC server that moves on to Wrath.

Thanks for the replies.
My concern is that I will be starting a fresh character from 1-70(80) and I don’t want to put the time and effort into a TBC server that will not have people on it and then Blizzard opening a Brand New Wrath Server which I would prefer to start on as it most likely will draw a larger population.

Blizz hasn’t said anything about fresh and it is very unlikely they will be launching any new servers when we’ve gone through a de facto consolidation of servers onto a smaller subset of large servers.

I can agree with that if I think about it.
Maybe I should just start my character now and worse comes worse, if they DO release new servers and my server is dead, at least I had some practice with my new character.

That’s really bad advice.

2 months later… “why is nobody else playing on this realm?”

Yeah. dead servers aren’t fresh, they’re just abandoned realms.

People begging for fresh only care about the first 2 months of a server’s lifespan anyways so what difference does it make?

It isn’t advice, it is sarcasm, lol

It should be or else tbc will be destroyed. They probably wont consolidate servers for over 6 months again and make sure it dies like they did with classic

There was a recent interview on (countdown to classic?) where the lead dev mentioned they were considering launching fresh WOTLK servers along side the progressive servers that already exist.

They cited the launch of TBC as the reason which is rather vague, but it could have something to do with the 100% faction mega servers and wildly out of control GDKP fuel’d economy.

No that wouldn’t work dude, dks would start at 58 and everyone else would start at 1?

Should there be? Obviously. Just 1 pvp and 1 pve would suffice. The current servers are just destroyed. The community a wreck, the economy a wreck. New players have no chance to ever catch up. Just as importantly, a lot of players enjoy the journey. They enjoy forming the community. That can only happen on a fresh server. To say to players, ‘Just decide to go all roll on some existing dead server’ is so silly it doesn’t deserve a retort.

But they won’t do it. For whatever reason. Maybe because they’d have to disable boosts on such a server and don’t want to lose out on that revenue.

I’d love a link to that interview, because it’s the first I’ve heard of them saying anything about potential fresh Wrath servers. So…I have my doubts if this ever happened.

Crusade realms are going up to wrath and that is already far more than enough. SOM should have made even the most intellect impaired realize by now that cranking out more realms without population to support them is stupid. The end result is just more empty realms on the already long list of empty realms.

I tried to tell everyone this last year before SOM went live. My thread was mostly trolled/ignored and actually deleted by Blizzard. Well who looks stupid now? SOM was a big failure mere months later and the same Blizzard that deleted my thread to defend SOM is now going to close all SOM realms.

I said the exact same thing about SoM. It was clear it was going to be a failure. And it has absolutely zero correlation to a fresh Wrath server, which would be a massive success.

SoM was catered to the 1% of tryhards. It came out right after players had been doing that content for 2 years. It came out just a little ways into TBCC. It never had a chance.

A fresh Wrath server is completely different. It’s released at the same time all other servers progress to Wrath. It’s brand new content that people haven’t experienced in a dozen years. It’s not being changed to appease the 1% of e-sport minded people.

SoM appealed to a very, very small percentage of players. A fresh Wrath appeals to a massive audience of players who want to simply start fresh in new content, build a community, not be miles behind everyone else in a broken economy. The only way to experience this is a fresh server. Blizzard would be completely foolish to not have just 1 pvp and 1 pve fresh server. That’s a simple fact.

The fresh project failed. As evidenced by SoM there simply isn’t a large enough audience to keep the forced meme afloat. Resources are better spent maintaining the servers that are already in existence and despite what some may say, you can do everything you want on ‘abandoned’ server that you could on a newly opened one with the same population restrictions in effect: proving that what the Fresh Crowd really wants isn’t a new server, but a player pool to reroll with.
