I rolled my three characters on Pagle but based on recent Blizzard posts about queues, I probably won’t be logging on this century.
So, I’m looking at Westfall. But I made the mistake of rolling on a low pop server in Vanilla and it cost a fortune to transfer off when the server died years later.
Do you think Westfall will die as well?
Westfall is one of the most iconic zones in all of Azeroth. It should stay healthy for a long time.
Westfall will be popular. It is already at medium, a lot of people are still at work and haven’t even created names. Plus when other realms queue up a ton of people will jump over.
I think that’s a concern for a lot of people and one reason some are hesitant to move off the original servers. While queues aren’t fun, they will be temporary.
I would rather deal with the queues now and be on a healthy server years and months from now instead of being stuck on a low pop server. I did make some characters on Incindius, but I kept mine on a couple of the other full ones. I’m kind of playing it by ear and undecided right now.
Westfall will be fine; but I would recommend leveling up one character to start and then when things settle down see how populations turn out. Reserve names you like on other realms and if need be transfer to them.
I made characters on Westfall because I don’t want to wait in long queues and I feel that others will move over when they see the queues. I have names I like reserved on Pagle to transfer to later.
Let me put it this way… no.
Unfortunately that isn’t the only unknown. It’s also unknown how the faction balance will turn out. You could get stuck on a realm with 2 to 1 ratio like my entire vanilla and burning Crusade experience.

i’m sure that every realm that goes medium or higher will be viable for a long time yet. Blizz said low is the same as a high pop in vanilla right? so even if half quit surely it’d be more than enough still.
I just rolled a lock and a priest there. I think it’ll be more than fine.
They said medium was the same as high I believe.
There aren’t as many realms as retail, so I wouldn’t be that worried about dead ones.
