I would bet that one of the characters long lost that we will run across in Shadowlands will be Arthas. Anyone else think this will happen? Could lead to interesting story at the very least…
YES! This will be his redemption arc!
“and help Warcraft legends journey back… or fulfill their ultimate destiny.”
This is about him
Illidan himself had a comeback in Legion so… much likely.
Amen to that!
We mostly likely will but I hope it’s nothing more than a cameo. Dealing with him has been tiresome since WC3. When he was alive, he was a whiny, annoying prat. When he became a DK, he was an arrogant, annoying prat. When we saw him in Wrath, he spend most of his time being a Scooby Doo villain.
People like arthas are most likely in the maw
I hope he comes back and kills Sylvanas again.
Plot twist Arthas IS the Jailor! Calling it now
I don’t want to see him show up, only for Lolvanas to one shot him with that dumb smirk on her face.
I hope they keep him dead and buried.
He’s in the maw I’m pretty sure, Sylvanas saw him when she died after jumping off ICC. Its where the worst souls go, hence why I’m assuming the “hell” Sylvanas went to was in fact the maw.
Redeemed arthas turns sylvannis back into a high elf, she becomes high elf allied race leader.
Idk, Arthas as himself, without being the Lich King is pretty much a male version of Anduin. Nothing really exciting.
Quote from Wowpedia/Jailer(Character) info:
“While the Jailer’s identity is unknown, he is not [Arthas Menethil]”
Hate to break this to you, my guy D:
And sylvannis wasn’t garrosh 2.0.
And bfa was morally grey.
Come on man.
Ya, that would be a cool plot. And maybe ironically killing salvanas again.
Arthas was a monster through and through, no redemption for somebody like that.
arthas was corrupted by frostmourne and had good intentions initially. in all honesty I feel like Grom Hellscream with the Iron Horde was worse, given he had no evil influence. It was all him and when it looked like things were going downhill, he flip flopped and the alliance / horde gave him a pass.
If we do…he is in the Maw for sure.
When Sylvanas died, she saw him and in the Q&A they said Sylvanas was in the Maw and is the only one to ever leave the Maw…until us. So if we are going to have an encounter with him, it will surely be in there somewhere.
One of the key elements of the “Arthas” novel is that in his head as the Lich King, there were 3 people: himself, himself as a little boy, and the spirit of Ner’zhul. Ner’zhul and the little boy try to persuade Arthas to the things that they want to do.
At the end of the novel, Arthas (in his head) murders the little boy. Ner’zhul applauds, then Arthas murders him too.
The Lich King we fought was entirely, 100% Arthas. Tyrion Fordring also sent us on a quest to see if Arthas could be redeemed, and determined that he was absolutely irredeemable.
Arthas was rotten to the core.
I would really not be surprise if he made an appearance, maybe even being a quest giver or something. I am not sure which article I read it in, but when it was talking about the legendary treasures you can find in the tower the article mentioned Frostmorne and the helm of damnation.
