You aren’t doing anything wrong, if you didn’t go that 1 specific way then you’ve locked yourself out of being useful. No way to change it, no second chances, and when that meta changes later in another patch then everyone will be broken.
Furthermore if you are on a low population realm might as well give up on WOs all together as the system requires high populations to function correctly.
Its been designed this way and Devs think its perfectly fine broken.
