Will Tyrande's arc be wrapped up before Shadowlands?

This is what we’ve gotten on Tyrande in Shadowlands so far:

    Steve Danuser

    • “The Night Elves have taken some shots on the chin in Battle for Azeroth, for sure. Tyrande is one of the most beloved characters and in all of Warcraft canon, and, I don’t want to speak to datamined broadcasts and things like that, but we will see Tyrande have some conversations with some of our other characters as we wrap up the Battle for Azeroth.”

    • “That’s a storyline that we definitely want to pay off and we have some interesting things in the coming expansion that I don’t want to spoil but I hope that Night Elf players get to see a new side of her and their culture in a way.”

Game Producer Shani Edwards: We’re gonna learn more about Tyrande’s story. Obviously, she is still very upset about what happened to her people. That’s going to lead her to Ardenweald. She’s gonna get some answers to some questions, and there’s gonna be some stuff coming with her that’s too spoiler-y to talk about but there’s more Tyrande…. All I can say is she has a pretty big story moment in Ardenweald. Very big role also.

Blizzard Watch: Are we gonna learn more about Elune while we’re there?

Lead Game Designer Morgan Day: That’s well into spoiler territory!

Shani Edwards: Can’t [talk about that]!

You’re damn right if that is the case. I’m tired of the Horde getting off scotch free from the Alliance all because of some contrived plot that forces forgiveness. The Horde caused all these souls to be tortured to begin with.

The choices are that she lets go of her anger and moves on, she stays angry for ever but does nothing in retaliation, or she tries to retaliate which is doomed to fail obviously.

Whichever case wins out, some Alliance players will be throwing a fit.

Option C sounds like fun because it would allow Alliance to be aggressive for a change, but it would mean more lame as F faction war which I personally have had my fill of for at least five or six expansions. Perhaps B then?

Option C, while obviously preferable to many, would make less and less sense the farther such revenge is separated from SoO2. What I fear is that her vengeance won’t meaningfully be addressed in game at all or will be shelved entirely as returning heroes fight a greater evil in the Shadowlands.

Because she’s not Jaina or Anduin or a dragon I have doubts that even Golden would devote her writing to Tyrande in a short story.

If there’s any two populace’s in Warcraft that have been screwed over hard in recent years it’s the humans of Lordaeron and the Nelves. Maybe Shadowlands is a way for at least the Kal’dorei to return to the world of the living. Perhaps Tyrande is tied to that. Probably not tho

Likely option A, with the Horde participating in it.

There’s something to hope for.

Some things you have to wait to get. Vulcans, Andorians, and Tellarites despite being 3 of the 4 founding races of the Federation, didn’t get any real development until Star Trek:Enterprise. It was all Klingon, Klingon, and more Klingon.

Hopefully it’s A, that would fit more with shadowlands I think over the other two I don’t think they want to do faction stuff for a while

yea that will go well with horde players, or in other words: the only faction blizz somewhat cares about.

Sorry honey I don’t want tyrande to turn into nelf Sylvanas

They are going to reverse the roles anyway with their planned Sylvanas redemption and Tyrande going crazy.

As long as Tyrande only kills every single loyalist that’s still in the horde or with Sylvanas, she is doing absolutely nothing wrong. Same for horde that is still in Night Elf land, such as Ashenvale. They all deserve to die and be tortured in the maw forever, just like the innocents they killed.

Also where did you take Option A from? Is option A Tyrande saving the Night Elf souls from the maw? Because that won’t go well with horde players, especially if they’ll have to help her.

Horde isn’t occupying Night Elf lands, and I’ve seen many Horde players express the desire to help free the souls that are trapped in the maw.

Well Horde took full control of Ashenvale in the war of thorns, so as long as nothing else has been stated, it’s horde lands.

And I’ve seen many horde players already complaining about the fact that Tyrande might be in Ardenweald and they are highly against the idea of freeing the Night Elf souls.
I mean not that I think that they will be freed, anyway. That would just undo the horde’s actions in BfA.

It was stated that we already won the Darkshore war front and they signed an armistice, You truly think they would allow them to keep Ashenvale if that was the case? (Which it isn’t)

I haven’t seen ONE Horde poster be against the idea of saving the souls and leaving them to be in an eternal hell. The idea of working with Tyrande? Yes.

I mean, there aren’t any confirmations that Ashenvale is Night Elf only again and Anduin signed that armistice in the blood of his allies so why would he care about Ashenvale. If the Horde wants to keep Ashenvale as part of that treaty Anduin wouldn’t deny them that, he doesn’t have to care about the Night Elves anymore anyway because there aren’t enough left to still be a relevant force in the Alliance, he doesn’t need them anymore.

Anduin doesn’t gain anything from Ashenvale, the few night elves that are left will be happy, but that’s not something that matters for him since it could endanger his peace treaty with the horde.

Well that’s kind of what it is and especially Sylvanas loyalists want to keep the Night Elves in the maw. Sylvanas loyalists are the kind of the targeted audience in BfA/Shadowlands.

Like everything the Horde players did in the War Campaign was undone also in BfA?

This notion you have of Blizzard not wanting to undo what the Horde has done is utterly unfounded.

Considering that many of them are Horde souls… that’s not really a surprise.

Well they didn’t have to undo their own actions. There is no faction specific content in Shadowlands so if the Night Elf souls would get freed, the horde player would have to do that too. That’s why I highly doubt that it’s going to happen. That and the fact that positive moments aren’t allowed for Night Elves.

No, ma’am. You said “Horde players” when in reality the people who are sylvanas loyalists are such a small few, that’s unfair to paint the majority of Horde players as supporters of Sylvanas.

Elesana’s next thing she’s going to say is that the Horde souls will go free and everyone else EXCEPT the Night Elf souls. It’s just illogical thinking.

Even if that was true, they are still the targeted audience of the writers.

Well I hope you will remember me when they redeem Sylvanas, leave the Night Elf souls in the maw, not give us Ashenvale back and possibly even forget about Tyrandes relationship with Sylvanas entirely.

They probably think that Bolvar deserves his revenge against Sylvanas over Tyrande at this point.
