Reply to title: I don’t think so.
I was super hyped for TWW. Now, I am not. It wasn’t the busted update that did it in for me, though, it was the toxic community. The update was, at most, the proverbial straw, but I don’t even think it had that much of an impact on my already rapidly declining excitement for this update.
My own personal thoughts aside, I don’t see TWW “saving” WoW because I don’t see new players sticking around in a community this toxic. Games can survive a bad release or content update. Look at No Man’s Sky. It was practically dead on arrival, and it’s super popular now. But a massively multiplayer game can’t survive toxic multiplayer, outside of its dwindling core audience of trolls.
Actually it’s been dying since 2010 when Cataclysm came out and subs peaked in Wrath…

Sorry, that being said… I don’t think WoW will ever regain that playerbase… I think there will be a slow decline but will be a profitable enough to get through the Worldsoul Saga… after that… who knows.
It will never grow beyond the current dedicated playerbase though I don’t think.

Lol no. It will continue to slowly bleed out. The bleeding just speeds up after each xpac. I can’t imagine what in this xpac would reverse that trend.

No the
show yesterday I imagine the dying would be a bit faster now. TWW will be very thin when it launches. People will be thinning out as the flying changes is pruning subs now.
The sky is falling, wow is dying/end of wow posts have been there since vanilla, such as the three page end of wow thread in the 2005 wow forum internet archive:
https://web.archive.org/web/20050718081530/http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com:80/board.aspx?fn=wow-general
Edit:
Their point went straight over the head, they were saying the doomsayers have been saying wow is dying since it started (hence when wow launched in 2004)
Everything alive is dying.

If Shadowlands didn’t kill WoW, nothing will.
This is not true. Subscriber ship has almost doubled since the lowest numbers several years ago. Get your facts straight before making statements.
I hate Sky Flying, I hated Dragon Flying so much I decided not to quest in DF. I can actually say I despise it…that being said I would never imagine quitting because of it. That is a level of cry babyness I could never achieve.
I am also not a die hard player like some, I just came back from a 5 year break.
WoD before SL, Cata before WoD.
WoW takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.
TWW is pretty mid. WoW can crank out absolute Ls and Blizz will be fine because of cash shop mounts and token sales.
Do you actually have data on recent subs? They are way up. Do some research before making statements that are based on nothing but a personal opinion.
This is perfectly apt here:

(Boy do I miss having image posting since they removed it from the Beta status)
We back to the “dying” thing again? Which streamer was it this tim?
I am not buying it. I hate dragon flying and will not be forced to use it or walk until Pathfinding is enabled, ever again.
Nothing will save WoW from dying.
Eventually WoW will have to die, as all things do.
No, we need to call Dr. House to figure out if it is dying first.
Except it’s always Lupus, and computers can’t get Lupus.
