Will the Alliance lose tomorrow? (8.2.5)

My goodness this was amazing, so much to take in… Oh man that robo-cat quest… I’d almost wiped it from my memory.

But seriously, the main story coming out of the burning of Teldrasil was… Saurfang’s reaction. I mean seriously… How?

The Alliance seems to be the dead horse blizzard can’t stop beating.

I don’t think the Alliance CAN straight up lose, because if they did, it would mean them being exterminated and zombified by the Forsaken.

Horde can lose because the Alliance will let them off the hook and that’s an easy way to maintain the status quo. Or we might just have no clear winner with the war ending in a stalemate. But a straight up loss for the Alliance, I doubt will happen.

That said, even if the Alliance does win, I doubt it will be satisfying for Alliance players because they won’t get any kind of revenge or compensation for the losses inflicted on them by the Horde, only another empty promise that this time the Horde will totally be good until the next time Blizz wants to force the faction war.

In order to have a satisfying conclusion, we need to have had at least the contents of a story first.

so… no.
Everything thus far has focused on an even more limp deck horde civil war than last time. Alliance never had a basis to stand on, they had no win condition or goal. They had no part in it except sitting in the audience. again.

Alliance can’t lose, but they sure as heck can’t win.

I would have to still have hopes to be worried.

a big part of why the story is stupid this xpack happened in darkshore.

it was previously stipulated by blizz that sylvanas and the valkyr couldnt raise anything other than humans. thats why in gilneas it was only Night Elves, Dwarfs, the Worgen and the Gnomes who showed up to repel sylvanas.

its like blizz forgot that plot point this xpack and went " screw it, undead night elves now ". even the lich king could only make an elf a banshee with sylvanas. even he couldnt raise non humans. its the whole point of the dreadlords telling arthas to nuke stratholme and not any other city like ironforge or silvermoon, or teldrassil. because they needed a lot of dead humans to raise for there forces.

the writing this xpack doesnt even follow blizzards own rules. its why its so bad.

that and the alliance just react to the horde doing stuff. but we have known for over a decade they only care about the horde.

Oh, that’s false. He could definitely raise non-humans-- and he wasn’t the Lich King at the time. He made Sylvanas a banshee because tearing her screaming soul from her body was more cruel than just zombifying her.

It’s the val’kyr that can’t. They could only raise vrykul and their descendants (i.e. humans). They handwaved this away because reasons.

Stalemate like always theres supposedly 2 cinematic and im betting one of them sets up 8.3

So what you’re saying is, in 8.2.5 the entire Alliance will drop to room temperature IQ and walk like zombies into a cloud of plague that kills them all.

No one is going to outright win or lose. It will be a stalemate like always. Each might get their big “hurrah!” moment, but no side is getting completely wiped out.

neither side will win or lose because Blizzard. But I’ll bank that the long cinematic is all about the culmination of Saurfang’s journey, which results in him dying an honorable death, probably as a result of some heroic sacrifice.

Imagine being this triggered by John Lennon song titles.

Horde type hurrah moment - Stormwind raized, 99% of the human population killed off.

Alliance type hurrah moment - Anduin shakes fist at Horde as they ride off saying “I’ll get you next time!”

Agreed. We have a friggen space ship with a surface destroying cannon unreachable by conventional azeroth weaponry…we have a wild god tier balance druid turned guardian, have strongest mage known in ages, have the incarnation of Elunes wrath, we have such a mechanical advantage with the Gnomes, and what do we do? We twiddle thumbs and hem and haw about justice. Blizz doesn’t know how to write for alliance so they ignore many aspects of them just for narratives sake, giving hordes plot armor. Very very poor writing

I just want to see the story outcome and hope it makes sense.

Probably happy families and another big bad. What tree?

Alright, that got a chuckle.

Not really. I just want to see what they plan to do with this story. Are they just going to sweep Teldrassil under the rug while we watch sad orc cinematic 4?

I loved the hurrah moment in WoD. Where Yrel distracted Blackhand for like 2 seconds after he killed her senior.

No. I’m sure I will be able to continue playing the game just as I did before 8.2.5.
