You know Alliance has better racials basically across the board, right? People stuck with Horde for a long time because of inertia, but if you look at the very top mythic plus rankings you will see basically all top players are playing on Alliance toons now because of the superior racials. Inertia will continue to exert an effect, but in terms of racial abilities – what I presume you mean by favoritism-- there is no real question that Alliance presently has the superior active and passive abilities.
Microsoft will probably do nothing when it comes to game development they will most likely let things continue as they have. All they want is content to put on Gamepass as that is there future. I would be down for playing wow free from Gamepass that would be a hell of a deal. 14.99 for ultimate and I get all the other games as well is a great bargain. Question is will WoW be put on PC Gamepass or not.
Why do people think MS will do anything other then collect their share of the revenue?
Always figured that Horde was popular in the US because of how mainstream macho/bro culture is here… you know, the whole over-the-top “manly man” stereotype that makes beer, bacon, football, and trucks their entire personality and was the target audience of Spike TV back in the 2000s. Horde aligns with that persona a whole let better than Alliance does.
I remember the hard shift we saw in TBC when everyone was caring about PvP racials with arena pvp being added.
It was recently disappointing losing the Vulpera Racials after swapping back to Alliance
So long as even one Horde player exists, Horde favoritism will exist. Maybe after the last Horde player quits it will exist for a while.
didnt think id see this question asked in honesty.
i really dont feel like debating an obvious point so im just gonna hope others do lol
ill just drop the one point that bothers me these days:
brawler’s guild works for horde rn but not alliance.
alliance can only get the vendor but no way to spawn an event at all but its perfectly fine for horde.
it’s been like that for a LONG time.
I heard that Microsoft’s entire upper management team and Board of Directors all play Horde. They start each workday by chanting “burn the tree!” in unison for 5 minutes (allegedly).
I mean, if that’s what you really want, I say have at it. If your definition of “favoritism” is watching major faction leaders and lore characters killed off or worse just plain old ruined. I’m all for letting the other side have a turn. In the name of removing faction bias, obviously.
Don’t worry, they are already working on that with the Night Elves.
Having the story focus on you is such a double-edged sword the last few expansions.
Alliance already has better racial abilities, though.
If anything it’s the Horde that needs assistance.
I mean thats what you get when you play horde no? You want the interesting story, you get the game of thrones.
Can always play alliance if you don’t like it.
Not when each story patch becomes an episode of GoT season 8 we don’t.
Hope? WoW (and most games) are always “dude just wait until the next round of changes”, be it patch, expansion, buyout, etc.
No, when I joined the Horde, that was not the case. And it’s never been Game of Thrones. There isn’t this fight to be king or rule anything. We have a lame Council.
Because the US is obsessed with toxicity and has a very savage way in approaching quality of life.
This is also prominent in European history.
They “fixed” faction balance (though maybe unintentionally) during WoD. Alliance started with much stronger PvP racials, and the Alliance garrison was a fairytale castle. While the Horde garrison was a bunch of rotting leather tents in a hole in the ground in a frozen wasteland. A lot of people couldn’t stand that and switched to Alliance.
What else happened in WoD? Millions of players stopped playing. There aren’t millions of players left to quit now.
I can’t think of anything they could do to change faction balance that wouldn’t hurt the game.
While they should fix this, it’s not responsible for longstanding faction imbalance issues.
I read Phil Spencer’s main is a tauren shaman, so probably not.
Well him having good taste is a plus
Well the biggest and most obvious…
