Will Humans ever have Rangers back into their Society. Or is it just a Elven thing?

I roleplay as a Human Ranger or also known as a Human Ranger and I have been thinking about this for a long time.

Will Humans ever have Rangers of their own kind into Human Society or is the Ranger Theme a Elven Thing?

Alliance has the Silver covenant which does have elven rangers in it. Vereesa herself is one.

Though we have armies of Dwarven riflemen which seem to be far more successful in ranged combat.

I’m surprised the Silver Covenant haven’t been teaching Humans how to be Rangers through since Highvale and Silver Covenant are the few last Alliance known Thalassian Elves to share their knowledge with the Humans.

Since the Blood Elves of Silvermoon still holds grudge against the Alliance to this very day.

Rangers are traditionally an Elven thing indeed. We’ve only seen a few examples of humans even approaching the title of Ranger, and only one that actually wears it and he’s undead.

My bet is no, but I can’t tell the future. There could be a new set of human rangers for whatever reason someday.

Rangers are more elf thing then anything else. There might be a few human rangers and only one became a ranger lord and he a undead now. So I doubt rangers will be anything but a elf thing overall

Is there anything you people won’t try and take from other races?

It’s that “human potential”, bro!

But when do we rise up against the Juggernaut that is “Human Potential” and say enough is enough.

How much ranger would a human ranger ranger if a human ranger could ranger?

There are human npcs that are called “ranger” like the SI:7 Ranger, Northwatch Ranger, Ranger Wons in Drustvar, and other unnamed Kul Tiran rangers (called Injured Ranger). Also Tyrathan Khort seems to essentially be a ranger even if he’s never called one. I’m not sure if an elven ranger means something different but even if it does, the Alliance has high elf and void elf rangers now.

Since When?

Further more, any race can be a ranger… Elves just tend to make the best rangers because of their experience in woodland areas, in addition to their long life.

The ranger theme was always an elf thing.

Nathanos was the first and last to join in their ranks, as well as undertake all their song and dance.

Rangers, in the sense of the Thalassian Farstrider or Kaldorei Sentinel/Archer, are predominantly an Elven thing. The only known non-Elven Farstrider Ranger is Nathanos Marris/Blightcaller, who was the first and the last of the human Ranger Lords. However, this specific term “first and last of the human Ranger Lords” implies there may have been at least some human Farstriders before, people close enough to the elves that they joined the Elven Ranger Corps, it’s just that they never reached the rank of Ranger Lord as that distinction belongs solely to Nathanos.

Rangers, in the sense of someone who is a highly-trained commando, a forester or a mere archer, can definitely exist in human society. Because of how close they are to their dwarven allies, they seem to have a preference for firearms over bows, but archers and crossbowmen still exist and are in use.

Says the race whose heroes are literally stolen from every other race in the game

I’m pretty sure they gave humans hunters so you could RP being a ranger. I know several humans who actually do, as a matter of fact.

Mountaineers are cooler if only because that’s my aesthetic.

If you mean “Rangers” as an organization… kind of have to have had it in the first place to “get it back”…

If you mean “rangers” as in people who use a ranged weapon and hunt things… Humans got Hunter as a Class option in Cata.

-Wanting Rangers when all they do is job against Trolls

Humans never had rangers. It’s mostly an elf thing. Plus, the elves already feel threatened when their magic monopoly was taken from them by the humans. Can you imagine the outcry if humans just took away the only contribution the elves give to the Alliance? Well, other than cannon fodder.

Nathan, the first ever human ranger lord, accomplished in a couple of years what an elf had to do in hundreds. It’s a low skill job for lesser races.

Rangers are pretty much an exclusively High/Blood Elven title and thing. Night Elves use the term Sentinel for pretty much the same thing.

The Alliance simply does not employ a martial unit of forest warriors. Mainly because compared to elven lands, Human and Dwarven lands are relatively deforested.

They have a good amount of crossbowman units in the Arathi warfront.
