Blizzard doesn’t listen to players, Blizzard listens to shareholders.
Nah, leveling was terrible since Classic, it’s gotten better, but it’s still bad.
…No… retail(now) was purposely made to be casual so that any gamer may enjoy WoW, including all the benefits/negatives of having a populated player-base vs competitive player-base.
Classic was made for hardcore who wanted different experience, ironically,…WoW hardcore meant MORE casual than other MMO’s during their time (though they spent years whining about casual epics…lol).
Only change retail can make, learning from classic formula, is making the game >more hardcore< but retaining it’s casual learning curve(for the best of everyone). So best bet, is changing class design to be euphoric enough for everyone to feel as if they have classic lore but new feel to re-immerse themselves. Not possible anymore, WoW been out too long and you can’t keep redefining class design to that point of desire.
GL design team. Can’t bring back classic to retail unless they design classes in away that goes whoa…to the players. Hasn’t happened in awhile.
Besides class design, by now(20 years)…everything is,… now considered a chore. In classic, those things weren’t considered a chore but a poorly formulated mmo mechanic that people whined it was…>outdated< and needs improvement (to the irony of retail now).
Though personally, I think BFA has done great job of discerning between chore and mmo mechanic. But, I do think class design has turned into a joke with the progression of ability pruning for sake of over-complication. I think they should keep mmo mechanics casual and class design hardcore or perhaps, more options for hardcore class mechanics to function such as old talent trees (players love talent tree, which I see as their biggest failure).
For the record I don’t think classic will be very successful long term, but as far as talent trees go it’s always the same. There’s always a build people expect, even with the new talents. At least back in the day wrath era there was some variation in pvp.
I love games where it takes Months if not years to progress not rush to get to the end and complain till the next dlc…I want to enjoy the journey not rush down a highway to get to the end as fast as possible
Well, I HOPE that this is a wakeup call and lets them realize that people miss the RPG and leveling experience that Classic brings. Im fine with the endgame in retail, but getting there is incredibly boring. Also I love the fact that crafting has actual meaning again.

‘‘as long as they don’t try to demand the version of the game I play be changed to fit their tastes.’’ hahahaha you mean just like you did for over a decade? Which drove people away in waves because we didn’t actually spend all of our time complaining here that we needed LFG/LFR, transmog, teleportation max level boosters and everything but we actually enjoyed the game for what it was? The only reason we didn’t fight back against all of it is because you guys made it happen over a long period of time and we were busy playing while Blizzard was cattering to a bunch of whinny kids. All of us at one point said ‘‘you know what? f**k it i’m done with that bs’’. Retail is one ‘‘improvement’’ away from playing itself with an auto button just like those chinese mobile mmo’s. When i told this to a friend who actually enjoy Retail he just said ‘‘i would actually want that’’. Just don’t play the game then. Stop torturing yourself. And you are delusional if you really think Classic ain’t successful or nostalgia is involved or wathever… You keep moving those goal post all the time because you are scared you might actually be forced to do something by yourself in the next WoW x-pac. All the people i know who subscribed are in for the long run because classic was a better game. Not because we are nostalgic. We all have something in common, hope for retail, we kept coming back every x-pac only to lose interest after playing 10h with it. Game have no challenge at all, no challenge = no progression so the RPG element is out the window already quickly followed by the MMO side of thing because every mechanics of modern WoW make it a chore to speak to someone… There’s no community outside of your small bubble and the econnomy makes no f-ing sense because everyone is bathing in gold. People say it as a joke but i actually tried and it worked, smashing your head against the keyboard until you level up is actually a viable strategy so there’s litteraly no point in playing your ideal version of WoW. Nothing feels right in retail unless you’re zombie. If we actually wanted all those changes for retail we would’ve spent our time here on the forums but OOPS we didn’t only a small fraction of players did and here we go again, classic launch everyone is coming back and for the most part it’s not because of nostalgia because none of us quit being bored of World of Warcraft we all left because of YOU! We vote with our money not with forum posts and now Blizzard is getting a taste of it so buckle up buttercup because sh*ts are about to change for you. VIVA LA REVOLUCION!
in a word no.retail will get wirse and all you will here id go play classic if you dont like retail.
Man, I am so looking forward to the threads in 6 months that focus entirely on rubbing your noses in it, when classic is still booming and retail is shifting to follow its’ lead.
No classic isn’t successful yet, all bad games had a GREAT first week until people realized the bad and left.
No need to change retail. People have classic if thats what they want.
I’m sick of hearing this argument. Elitists have always existed regardless of whatever system was in place.
You’re under the impression I want one to fail like you do.
Reading comprehension, try getting some.

A large number of things people like about Classic probably can’t be brought to Retail, including no flying, no transmog system, no LFR, no LFD, no CRZ, old models, etc.
There are people who literally quit the game over the addition of flying mounts in Burning Crusade (especially PvP server players).
There might be some things they could incorporate into Retail from Classic and older expansions, though. Things that don’t involve removing things like transmog and flying.
Do you know how paragraphs work?
I don’t think you know how paragraphs work.
You should probably figure that out.
unless you actively go out of your way to drag the game into a monotonous grind that cannot physically be completed for so long, your never gonna get that with WoW.
Even in classic, this so call bastion of slow grinding repetitive leveling, people hit near max level and cleared a raid in under what? A week?
You’d have to purposely make the game a slog grind to achieve what you want, and that would kill the game.
Maybe you should try Everquest.
I disagree. Leveling through retail or classic is boring to me. I have done it many times over the last 15 years. I do not want to do it again.
Think they are going to do what they always do, Keep the current planned scheduled going on the game evolving & fix as much of the little stuff as they can in patches & fix big stuff in next expax.
This is what I think happens. I enjoy BFA but leveling in retail is SO boring. They need to fix that because I have no interest in playing an allied race if I have to slog through all that content again
