Will 8.2 be enough to carry us over till classic?

I’m going through internet drama with a certain provider known for their stellar customer service so my voluntary break from BFA turned into something more mandatory. No worries, it’ll get fixed eventually and I’ll have good reliable cabling (finally) for Classic.

And with Classic on my mind 8.2 held my attention for < 5 mins.

Replayed Shadow of Mordor, just now dug up Medieval Total War 2. Love that franchise.

In the PvP department, no. After I’ve read the official 8.2 notes they have not delivered any major overhauls at all. Sure, a couple of melee specs would get nerfed and one would get buffed, but Blizzard has been missing the forest for a few ugly trees. By the time they would balance PvP, we’ll already have 9.0 deep in the pipeline so in my assessment it’s too late to fix PvP now.

That leaves the PvE venues, which I think in my honest factinion, should be enough “gas” for Classic. Maybe we’ll have to walk the latter half, if it’s that bad. You just can’t take the PvP bus because its transmission blew out, and the PvE bus is quite the gas guzzler.

I’m pretty much in the same boat. I actually leveled this character a couple levels over the last week working on some of the Midsummer achievements. I actually had fun doing that because along the way I found myself getting sidetracked doing fishing, pet battles and archaeology. But I did have fun.

I have a troll warlock at 118 that I had the intention of getting to 120 but the interest just isn’t there for some reason. I don’t know what it is about BfA because I don’t necessarily see it as a horrible expansion, but I just can’t seem to get into it.

I have basically been playing some low level alts in lower level content. That’s where I seem to get my enjoyment honestly. Been having fun with my mage I just got level 69 on earlier. I’m just casually playing, and admittedly having a bit of fun, while waiting for Classic.

The lure of classic brought me back, but I am really enjoying the expansion i missed and BFA. Probably going to leave classic alone for a while and try it when I get done with live.

Yep, X.2 content patches always keep me entertained for several months.

Playing one of my other 300 games (sometimes co-op sometimes solo), watching netfix and you tube, reading books. Basically the same thing I was doing before Classic was announced.

I’m going to derive more fun from Shadowbringers than I will from Essence Farming.

I been mainly playing another MMO since WoD and right now trying out some PoE to hold me over till Classic. Hope 8.2 dries up into dust so Blizzard can focus on Classic or making another game.

I’ll be playing Everquest until Classic comes out. I wouldn’t play BFA even if Blizzard paid me.

Im just hoping it keeps the retail trolls off of our forum. Dear god in heaven, give those people something to do so they will stop coming here.

I’m more enthusiastic about leveling a third beta toon to 40 right now, knowing full well that I’m wasting my time doing so (beyond bug finding, that is) and risking pre launch burnout… than I am for playing 8.2…i don’t really know how or when it happened but I’m basically entirely over retail, and if a major content patch couldn’t even momentarily recapture my attention, I’m not sure what could. I don’t even like leveling, and beta pvp is just filled with terrain exploits in the few cases a bg does even pop… But I’m still enjoying it more than I’ve enjoyed retail in a long time.

Not really interested in BFA personally. I’m just playing some cRPGs to pass the time. About to start Pathfinder: Kingmaker and then if I have time before classic comes out, I’ll probably play some of the older ones that I haven’t played in looong time. Undecided as to whether that means Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 or maybe Planescape Torment. Ideally all 3 of them if I find the time.

Definatly not bfa,I’m not leveling a necklace for 5-6 toons I like to play and hunting for perfect trait gear all day— this is not diablo 3 blizz.

Personally I’ve been playing through some of retail, actually trying to level this guy up when I have time, but I’ve thought about trying to get ahold of all the Metal Gear Solid games and playing back through those again and seeing if maybe I can stomach my way through MGS:5. (DAMMIT Konami…why did you oust Kojima how stupid are you!?)

I resubbed for Classic hype. Had some things on my list to do that I ended up doing ( got 1900 in RBG’s to get the transmog , got to Rival in 3v3 as a Ret before getting bored ) after that I just … dont care to play retail  the world isnt exciting to look through. I noticed quests have great and fun mechanics to kinda make up for the 2-4 buttons I may press while I kill something 40 times over.

I dont know. Its just all boring. Alot of flashy stuff but nothing feels rewarding. :frowning:
I cant wait for Vanilla.

How is that game? Been thinking about revisiting some older ones that I played a long time (Baldur’s Gate 1&2, Planescape Torment) but it would be cool to look at an older one that I haven’t played before as well.

It can be a bit buggy at times but I haven’t seen a RPG with quite as much player agency as that game. There’s a lot of ways to build a character in that game, and a lot of different paths you can take.

Sounds like something I’d probably be interested. Bugs are kinda par for the course when it comes to old RPGs so that’s not a deal breaker. Gonna have to take a deeper look into that one.

Then post this where it belongs, in the GD forum.
