Here’s an MM hunter with 600 ilvl doing it in about 5 minutes. I’d assume 70 ilvl shaves more than a minute off that.

You needed neither of these things to have the gear to do Zekvir ??
Gear makes the fight easier and less stressful. Especially for melee classes.
Some builds just are not advisable for him.
I think mm with it’s short cd high burst damage for target swapping, ranged interrupt, and snare removal with a short cooldown, was built extremely well for the zekvir encounter. Not as well as some, but nowhere near badly or even average.
I only made ilevel 636 last Season. I could have gotten more gear if I didn’t have PC hardware issue. It could have been easier for me. I could need only few attempts to get lucky to get a Zekvir?? kill. I could have gotten more attempts early in the Season to get more chance. But I didn’t. I ran out of time. If I had one month more on the Season, I would get it. All good. Lessons learned.
I should be aggressive with my goals. I should have fixed my PC earlier. Now I know the symptoms if the Power Supply is messed up causing Black Screens. If my PC is fine, I should beat my goals aggressively not waiting at the end of the Season. If I am given time, I should get more attempts.
I killed Zekvir?? recently. It’s just I felt it’s not a faceroll. 1:30 to get to 2nd phase at my current overgeared gear is fast to me but it was not a faceroll. The other MM Hunter was right. If I can survive all Zekvir?? bad stuffs thrown at me, I could kill him. And I just did. Single Target DPS’in is not my specialty since I focus more on M+ and I seldom do Raid. But anyway, a Zekvir?? kill is a kill.

Thanks for the replies.
Now, let me kill Underpin??. I almost have beaten the whole Stormwind Vision Unmasked last night. I just need like 1 lucky Crit and I could have beaten it. I should do it again. Let me beat down AoTC now too. I am way overgeared for these contents.
Knowing Blizzard, these instances probably scale as the players power scales.
636 was more than enough to clear the fight for every class.
It scales based on armor type and spec. He deals more damage to tanks even though that… makes no sense.
I thought you could still get the void customization for your dirigible but that it’s just on a very low drop % now?
Yeh I did it at 610 as shadow so idk what to say about that.
Then later did it as ret at ~630 and one shot it.
Yes, but I need to strengthen muscle memory to get used to the mechanics. The more practice, the better. I didnt get a lot of attempts, not enough practice. I didnt think I got more than 60 attempts last Season.
There was one mechanic that is killing me last Season that I have resolved just recently.
Makes plenty of sense for the same reason hunter pets and the loc VWer/felguard gets 1 shot in that if he didn’t he would be trivialized.
Mechanics matter. It is meant to be the pinnacle challenge for solo players. Not every left of bell curve is expected to accomplish it and with a relatively low “cost” to participate, there is no real drawback either.
And a LOT of left of bell curves think it comes down to “RNG” when in reality they don’t understand the finer nuances of the fight and how they should be setting themselves up for success and instead devolve into a panic frenzy trying/hoping to burn it down before they get clapped.
To be fair even when you understand it there is some RNG involved. The same can be said for Underpin??
They aren’t very well designed fights with 100% reliable mechanics. IE bombs kicked from 10 yards away from the adds mysteriously coming up just short and requiring another kick.
So I’d say it’s equally wrong to say there is no RNG involved as it is to say it comes down to RNG 100%
Zek RNG was my favorite though as SPriest. Use fade to dispel his poison, aggro goes to Brann, Brann immediately gets feared into Narnia, Zek drops a cone at max range with you directly in the middle on the slowest class in the game.
Every time I faded I just instinctively chased zekvir, it’s not really RNG when you know it’s going to happen.
I think the vast majority of your issues come from clicking your spells.
Just went back and did it for fun. Phased P1 at 50 seconds, killed in 2:24. Coulda used drums and gotten it faster probably.

I did as well and yet you can still end up pushed to a range by his fear AoE. It’s not like you could just hug him when that pattern came up.
You could execute just fine and still lose which is why RNG was objectively a factor. Though a fairly minor one.
At least on most casters I don’t think that’s true. I never had a pattern I couldn’t handle or couldn’t avoid having to ever handle to begin with.
Agree to disagree on this one.
Underpin’s RNG is a bit more egregious but I think it was still a minor factor on Zek.
Both are fights that can be completed with enough repetition however.
does it really not have any rewards? i haven’t bothered trying zek
Supposedly a small chance at the Delver’s Dirigible transformation from last season, but I recommend players who didn’t get it then to go back next expansion so they can just slam dunk the guy super quick to farm it much faster.
No Rewards right now but it was fun though. At least I got something done from my Bucket List. RoFL.
I don’t think I would do it again to get the Delver’s Dirible mod this Season.
On Zekvir?, I overgeared and burst it down fast at ilevel 629 on S1. You are considered overgeared on Zekvir?? at ilevel 650 on S1. On S2, I am already ilevel 671. I thought I would overgear Zekvir?? now like how I overgeared/forced kill Zekvir? before. I didn’t know that Zekvir?? is like scaled to my Power scale. it didn’t give me enough chance to burst him down. It just give me short windows to pewpew as it controls me to follow its mechanics or get 1-shot’d.
It’s not. It has the same health bar it had last season and it’s still vastly easier than it ever was.
But he could still one shot kill you. Unlike on Underpin?, it was okay to be hit and still able to faceroll him.
