Why Was /Spit removed?

Those were good days.

lmao, imagine being butthurt since 2008, that people can buy the super sparkly kitty mount or the wow tcg chicken mount. to the point you take orders from a loser with clout

probably for the same reason they yanked a ton of jokes and flirts…they wanted to better their image and I guess /spit was disrespectful or didn’t meet their current values. I for one never used it so I’ve lost nothing but god… they really tore apart male worgen as most of their jokes and flirts are now gone. Female worgen can’t called themselves B****y anymore which idk…seems off as they’re female canines and it wasn’t that bad but hey whatever…they also removed the milk joke from tauren and thankfully left the ice cream joke for highmountain girls. Idk…why the need to cleanse emotes was ever a thing but hey whatever

I always figured it was partly because of COVID and the fact that spitting on someone is a crime in most of the US along with the /spit spam on store mounts.
It was just all those things happening at the same time plus the attempt to clean up their(Blizzard) image pre and post scandal.

Soft because we’re triggered by having a childish emote removed? I could not agree more. Thank you for this. I too left second grade humor behind in second grade.

You can still say the N-word. They removed spit because it made the whales cry. Blizzard does not care about you.

you can’t.
Not without dodging the language filter.

Show us on the doll where the childish emote hurt you.

So… you’ve tried this? Why?

You don’t think I don’t see it every day when people look at my human character?

I have no idea what you’re saying here.

Which mount was that? Is that the Celestial Steed? I remember people hates those who bought Celestial Steeds. Didnt know people were overdoing mass e / spit.

Wowhead submitted shots a few months back showing it was a banned word.

But here’s the thing for like at least 16 years you could say it without a preemptive chat block functionality. And said change occurred after they removed spit. Like this sort of language block should have been in well over a decade ago.

Because Blizz is slowly becoming woke culture. They censor things to pander to the current movement / uproar.

It’s quite hilarious and sad, and many sheeple fall for this behavior in believing that Blizz cares.

Nope. They pander to the current uproar, just like many other companies do to save their skins.

Independence is a dying trend.

You can still /spit on other players. You do realize that, don’t you?

The only difference is that it takes ever so slightly more effort than people are willing to put in order to grief players, which curtails toxicity because most people wouldn’t want to put in the added effort just to troll.

It’s so pathetic. Most of you complain about politics being put in the game, and yet will refuse every opportunity to shut up about it.

The phase-hunter mount.

Celestial Steed was Wrath.

whales were mad cause they were getting called out for encouraging blizz to actively make our game worse. mounts that should of been able to be earned, were made purchasable and it annoys any play in their right mind. I personally stilll cant stand people with store bought mounts.

You don’t have to tell me. Tell the OP. I already know I can use /e.

You can’t use it on the opposite faction though, can you?

That’s all I ever really used it for. To spit on people in PvP.

People are so thin skinned its hilarious. “So toxic”.

Asmongold’s sole contribution; getting an emote pruned.

I initially thought removing it was a dumb idea, but the fallout from it sure is entertaining. Can’t believe how emotional people can get about one emote.
