Why was no warning given for the policy change towards Multiboxing?

imagine using wow for real world money. i hope the 10’s of dollars you make daily doesn’t take food out of your kids mouths when you cant farm mats anymore.

I don’t get the issue here. If you’re playing legitimately and all those toons individually there shouldn’t be a problem?
Just alt tab continuously and control each character individually, like the game is designed to do.
Problem solved.

Yes and no, you can’t farm 99% of the stuff, we could farm herb/mine, but it is a massive thing and as most areas have phashing issues, the follow command doesn’t work as supposed, so it won’t be something like hit follow in every account, move to spot, do one by one, it would be something, like move 10 yards, hit follow in every account, move some more, hit follow, … do something in every account, mount in every account, then repeat, which takes at least 3 times longer, putting boxing nearly worthless for most people that can purchase wow tokens, as buying wow tokens would be much cheaper.

It really depends how the wow token will behave ahead, if it goes down to 50k’ich, boxing will be viable, if not, i doubt it.
I’m most certainly not wasting a cent on the box after this…

I don’t think they are saying you cannot do this. It is the one key stroke control all that they have shot down.

That’s my point exactly. If you’re meant to control each character individually and you are in fact playing them individually, there shouldn’t be an issue

No one seems to be point out the obvious so i’ll just say it.

Chromie time is the reason 3rd party software was banned.
Chromie times gives botters and multiboxers a total of 14 instances of any location in the open world. 7 through the xpacs and 7 through WM.

Botting and multiboxing got 14 times more profitable with chromie time for retail botters and multiboxers.

This change comes after 1.6 decades of botting and so called" cheating" this change wasn’t due to bot saturation in classic or all past xpacs. this change is to swiftly slow down the blackmarket influx of gold and the Market prices on each server.

you’re all to busy bickering to see the changes right in front of you.

Enjoy your class warfare while I sit back farming 14 locations for 500k+ gold an hour through 100% allowed means.

get your heads out of your butts and realize blizzard has played you all for 16 years and now that the cash cow botting and multiboxer have been isn’t profitable for blizzard they change this.

Technically - they did give a warning… the post and the article said soon - not right this second. Its vague - but it was given 20 days prior to an xpac launch date that’s more than enough time for persons to cancel their 20 plus extra accounts… and lets be honest - even though it wasn’t against the TOS… it violated most players sense of fair play.

Yes 100% shouldn’t have ever been a thing

Dude…

We will soon begin issuing warnings to all players who are detected using input broadcasting software to mirror commands to multiple accounts at the same time (often used for multi-boxing). With these warnings, we intend to notify players that they should not use this software while playing World of Warcraft. Soon thereafter, the warnings will escalate to account actions, which can include suspension and, if necessary, permanent closure of the player’s World of Warcraft account(s). We strongly advise you to cease using this type of software immediately to maintain uninterrupted access to World of Warcraft.

This IS your warning…

They did give you a warning. They aren’t going to ban your account today out of left field. You should use this time to remove any software and add-ons that breaks this new policy.

I removed ISBoxer and Innerspace from my PC when I read about this last night.

I have seven active accounts currently. I requested a refund for five of the Shadowlands base expansions I purchased and they have granted my refund request.

So, if you feel that it’s unfair or whatever, you are allowed to submit a ticket and request a refund if you feel it is warranted. There’s no guarantees you’ll get a refund, probably case by case basis such as when you purchased it and what not.

I think Blizzard is being very fair about all of this. I always said that if Blizzard changed its policy on multi-boxing, I’d respect their changes and I have and will.

I still have two accounts, more than enough to suit my needs.

They can’t take my Brutosaur away from me though, that’s my baby, they can’t have it.

They did give players notice.
They said there would be a period of time before account action is taken.

You have been warned

This is the announcement in advance. This is the warning. Go back and read the announcement.

What, you want a warning in advance for a warning in advance?

You still have time to refund your Pre-Orders. Forget about gametime tho… I don’t think they can if you played a few days in it.

There is. For like a month they’ll only be giving warnings. Bans will start happening after a while if they STILL use it after a warning.

Did you even read it?

Runs into the thread with a bucket If I collect enough multiboxer tears, I’ll have enough for a nice, warm sitz bath.

The epsom salt will even be built-in.

also keep in mind under their stance on multiboxing it just says they MAY penalize you… and its is an actionable offense. So really are they even going to enforce it with language like that?

the funniest part about all this is that farming herbs and ore is only hindered by idk 3-4 seconds per node? There are still going to be people ruining the economy.

Warning is being given. But multi boxing isn’t being prohibited key repeating software is. There are still several ways to multi box without it albeit less convenient.

I read the post or article and they will be handing out warnings soon. Then it escalates from there per account.
