You don’t seriously think that changing one mechanic for one fight would effect class representation of tanks as a whole…do you?
I think that everybody else having their AoE taunts taken away, but Brewmasters being allowed to keep theirs, is just one more sign of Blizzard’s blind spot when it comes to having Brewmasters playing anything close to the same game as all other tanks.

Yes, I’m sure the one person complaining about a unique ability is totally going to offset the “OMG classes are all the same!!!” complaints feedback that they’ve been getting since the start of the expansion.

If you’re so concerned about classes looking too similar, you should encourage Blizzard to take your AoE taunt and give it to a different class.
The reasons that Monks are so preferred are many:
- Any deathblow that would kill another tank cannot, by definition, kill a Brewmaster.
- Highest overall mitigation, even outside of that. Least healing required.
- Only tank class left with an AoE taunt.
- Incredible mobility.
And Monks have kept all of these things while other tanks have been nerfed over and over and over and over and over again.
If class identity is so important, how about we kick the Monks in the nuts, for a change?

So this is just overflowing salt from the fact that guardian lost their “class identity” of being the “only tank that anyone ever wants to bring to a raid” in Legion.
Fixed that for you, bears were only the top tank for 1 raid tier: Nighthold.
How many raid tiers have Monks been top dog? Go all the way back to Tier 14, please.
Remember in Blackrock Foundry when Monks could just ignore mechanics by tanking the demolishers, and didn’t have to kite them as intended? They could just face-tank them, because they were indestructible.
Not that kiting would have been a problem, since that was easy for BrM’s too, which made them indispensable on Imperator Margok.
This goes way past nerfs to tanks this expansion; Monks have been disgustingly overpowered for most of their history.
No matter how hard Blizzard nerf DKs we still OP! only if your ORC !
I’m okay with this! I spent quite some time as the mediocre or bottom of the barrel DPS with Balance.
