It’s because it’s easy to hate when you didn’t get what you want and pretend you didn’t want it anyway then pretend that the thing you got is exactly what you wanted even though it obviously isn’t.
That’s what I imagine is going on with the angry Alliance who are constantly hating on vulpera.
Where did you ever get the idea that junker gnomes don’t get much hate? Alliance players were disgusted at us getting Junker gnomes while the horde were getting vulpera. We still hate Junker gnomes, but gave up on blizzard since the decision has already been made.

I dislike both races equally. Happy now? If you want to RP a certain race why does it matter what anyone else thinks?
Personally, I don’t like the Mecha Gnomes because they’re too “twitchy”, which drives me crazy, and I don’t like the Vulpera because they’re just re-skinned Goblins, and the girls are no more feminine than males. I wish Blizzard had been thoughtful enough to let people try out the races before making us go through hours & days of boring quests. They wont fool me again.
Mechagnomes receive a ton of hate from a lot of people, I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Vulpera hate, on the other hand, is just a meme.
I think it’s because of the sheer popularity of Vulpera. They’re a “cutesy” species that people feel don’t belong alongside Orcs and Tauren. Blood elves had that problem when they first came out afaik.
They also appeal to a distinct subculture that has a poor reputation for being pushy sex-fiends. Furries have a bad rap, although I think this is especially because of how cutesy their designs are. Tauren are definitely furries, but they’re… not as universally cute? Idk.
