Why the Vanilla CE pets, but not Murky?

To which i have said, if they limited it to 1 only i’d live with that. I want my vanilla experience, i’m not asking for changes.

I just don’t see the logic behind letting one set of CE pets from vanilla in; but telling the other CE pet from vanilla to basically kick rocks.

there’s no logic behind it, and it is an easy fix.

I’m going to have to stop you right there. You said

an injustice. You really went there? THIS is what think of when you read the word “injustice”?

Seriously?

… but I’m cozy right here and already took off my shoes. :dog: We are just having a discussion about the merits of changing our beloved Classic WoW. You shouldn’t be so dismissive of other people’s opinions, my good man.

And Justan, if this thread just said “I think we should have Murky back, it’d be a nice nod to original players” then this would be a very successful thread.

Instead, you have said, and I will quote:

(yes, in two different posts)

(you like this phrase! +1)

(and kicking rocks too!)

So, in conclusion… wait, what were we talking about again?

Cool. All your problems with my wording aside; Can you give me a logical argument of why not?

Especially since the vanilla CE pets were included; Why not Murky? thanks

One Murky per server is hardly Vanilla like.

Did Blizzard already answer your question regarding Murky being in Classic, albeit with an answer you do not like?

If so, it seems that what we have here is yet another case of “I will not accept any answer, unless it is the answer I want to hear.”

Because you are going back to square one which mean no murky. You know who was at square one though? Ce pets and people.

Blizzard has remained painfully silent on the issue, actually.

One Murky per then, who cares? It doesn’t change my point

I did give a logical argument. Blizz has a deadline bearing down on them like a runaway Kodo and Murky just ain’t a top prority. And unfortunately they do not have you on their development team because you know how to one-click-fix these types of problems.

Exactly. Who cares about Murky?

Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but Murky was a Loot Gift part of the free “Blizzard Swag” during the October 28-29 BlizzCon event (2005).

He was not obtainable in Classic any other way. And there was only a few thousand copies made as well, making it one of the rarest to obtain pets even today. Unless they add a new swag version at their next BlizzCon, Murky doesn’t seem to have a place in the new Classic game.

No Murky for you!

Then I guess they really have not yet told Murky owners to kick rocks despite your claim that they have.

Allow me to quote you:

No murky? Well that settles it. Classic is completely unplayable. Back to private servers everybody

Murky is equally as rare today as the vanilla CE pets. BOTH were in vanilla WoW. Why not Murky?

70% of parents DISPLAY favoritism amongst their children, the other 30% are just doing a better job of it… Blizzard has always had a hard time doing a good job of things.

Murky was a limited edition event pet, not a collectors edition (CE) pet that came with the game or a pre-order. If you participated in the 2005 BlizzCon event and obtained a Murky egg, try using it in Ironforge to unlock it in Classic. Maybe it will work - but maybe the loot codes are only connected to the retail game too. Regardless of if it works or not, you would still need have obtained the item during that 2005 BlizzCon event in order to get the Murky pet. Without that code, there is still no way of obtaining it in Classic or in Retail.

If you do happen to have such a loot code, I would recommend opening a ticket when Classic opens up to ask one of the Gamemasters if the code is something that will function properly on the new Classic realms.
