Why The Rush Blizzard?

You realize that you’re level 60, right? You realize that what you just said is exactly what the level 20’s and 30’s in this thread think of you, right?

OK, so you just want to rant and complain and aren’t interested in any constructive feedback.

Maybe go cry it out on Twitter or post sad selfies to Instagram.

I loved my old retail family and I was sad to leave them for classic but I had to admit that I was very unhappy playing on under represented faction on my particular realm.

It’s not right for Blizzard to leave players in such dire circumstances when a new player isn’t informed enough to pick the best realm available to them.

On launch day of classic, the queues were insane and all of my real life friends chose to abandon the realm that I had already chosen and previously applied to a guild that fit my play perfectly. They weren’t too impressed that I didn’t follow their lead but I knew that I couldn’t afford to end up on a realm that might potentially end up in the same situation that I had previously been for several years.

It’s disappointing that I can’t play with people I’ve known most of my life, and even the ones I share a house with but I am in a fantastic guild and my realm is everything I could have ever wanted.

My heart sinks for anyone who isn’t currently experiencing this game at the same level of enjoyment that I am. It should be Blizzard’s responsibility to fix this situation, not yours.

I play standing up. We’re spending more time gaming but some of us are still taking care of ourselves.

It’s cute that you are concerned for our lives that you know nothing about though.

I’m sorry. But no. No they do not. They care about one thing: Shareholders.

…just like all the other companies.

And how do you make shareholders happy? By ensuring that customers still buy your product.

Nope! Annual franchises, baby. That and lootboxes. Oh! And more cash shop items.

A new IP also works. So does new games with in an IP…but only if they are fairly close to release (expect ATVI to go up probably around Q1 of 2021; Blizzard did say D4 was a long way from release).

Now how this relates to the ‘rush feel’ that’s going around. Well, most of the big-name streamers are lvl 60 and in nearly full T1/BiS…they’re bored. Streamers generate a crap-ton of hype (read: Free Marketing). So, you keep them stocked with stuff to do, people tuning in see how excited they are…chances are those viewers will translate into conversions (new-subs / resubbers).

But…if the streamers get bored, they go to other games; you, as Blizzard, don’t want that.

I reiterate: I’m not concerned about the phases, I’m concerned about what Blizzard does after the phases; TBC? Reset (as in wipe characters and reset the game)? Shutdown (unlikely, but could be in the cards)?

Seems like everyone is having fun but you.

I’m as happy as I have been with Blizzard currently as I have been in perhaps the last 10 years. They have my support for now.

From last Blizzard had announced, they are undecided what will happen down the line but they are interested in what the players wish to happen.

I personally want Classic servers to stay live for many years to come. TBC can be provided as another service for all I care.

The motive you provided is exactly what has turned many players off retail wow. I played through BFA, players I had played with throughout legion eventually decided to stop playing completely.

From everything I’ve read from the Classic design team, we are being sold a straight product. I don’t know why you would mention loot boxes, anything to that degree would send Classic straight into the ground.

They aren’t that stupid and neither are you.

The same people that are raging so hard now about the speed of content releases would also be complaining if content was releasing too slowly for themselves particularly, ignoring the fact that there are still people level 30 that haven’t experienced all of the content.

I personally don’t care how quickly or slowly the content gets released but demonizing people for not playing at your pace is ridiculous.

Yep, I’d like a ‘choose your own expansion’ option, fire up a realm for each expansion; adjust for ‘estimated interest’ and just let us have at it.

The mentions of lootboxes was an example of what gets shareholders truly excited. What’s making them happy with Classic is all the returning subs (something like 2 million came back :open_mouth: just to play Classic).

Wow, the irony is strong with this one.

Retail players are not paying a single dime more for classic than they already are for retail. Why should primary retail players be catered to, instead of returning accounts here solely for classic? The latter are additional accounts.

Why do you bring up retail players? The discussion is largely about lower level players being upset at max level players in Classic.

Because much of the rush to endgame is a retail mindset, and retailers make up a not-inconsequential portion of classic’s population.

Do you imagine those that waited and hoped over a decade for vanilla/classic are the type that rushes to the end and then complains of little to do?

Probably so that they can “finish” classic before shadowlands and get everyone to switch

It does work like that. In Classic people will go back and run old raids they out gear because they still need stuff that drops in them. Getting in those runs either as new guildy or a pug is how you catch up.

Well, they should still try to do something.

At this point, on really imbalanced PvP servers, I’d even be willing to entertain the idea of letting PvE players transfer in to help balance the factions. (Assuming there are any willing to do this.)

It’s going to be too late to try to fix faction balance after they make it even worse with the release of Phase 2.

Not really. Back in vanilla, whenever Blizzard would open new servers, there was always a race to the top.

I’ve been raiding now for the last 7 or 8 week now. I’ve never once complained that there’s nothing to do yet. Sure I have close to everything I could need from dungeons but I haven’t even levelled a second profession yet and my alt is only a fresh level 11.

Blizzard decided that it’s time for phase 2 and to be honest, it feels like a good time to do it.

Nah I agree that something needs to be implemented to balance those servers. It’ll never be too late though.

Well, we can see what happened on retail. Sharding with other realms to try to balance the faction numbers and then eventually war mode so players on PvP realms can opt out of wPvP.
