Nothing about the maw is core content. it’s all optional.
Only thing that can be close to core content is the once weekly simple quick to do collect 5 souls quest for renown… you literally can finish this in a couple minutes without getting into combat with anything.
Personally I don’t do any maw content, other than the weekly quests, i don’t do the maw dailies because there’s nothing worth my time to gain from it.
10 souls. You must be behind on your Renown. Also, a smith that adds gem slots to your equipment sounds like core functionality to me. Do you remember when you had to grind to unlock reforging, justice, and valor vendors? No, because Blizzard hadn’t completely forgotten how to design content back then.
This is precisely the problem, but you’re refusing to acknowledge it as a problem.
5, 10, 20… doesn’t matter, it’s super quick to do without the need to get into combat with a single mob.
Also adding gem sockets to gear is not a core feature. It’s optional. Do you think Limit needed sockets on all their gear to get world’s first? They along with countless other guilds are living proof that sockets are not needed to clear even the hardest content 9.0 has to offer.
In otherwords, sockets are purely optional and not required for any 9.0 content.
As for a problem with the maw… what problem? you’re trying to make a problem out of nothing. Blizzard has made it clear, the Maw as it stands currently is as it’s intended to be. Hostile and Dangerous. It’s literally wow’s equivalent of hell. Also you need to also keep in mind that it’s barely 9.0, we aren’t even dealing with sylvanas and the jailer in 9.0, rather what we are getting to see so far is just the intro of the maw and the jailer, etc, so not sure why you expect there to be a plethora of content to do in this zone.
foolish if you believe they are the only ones clearing any mythic content. countless thousands of guilds progressing mythic, all with majority of players without a single optional socket added to a single piece of gear.
Also why don’t you ignore the countless M+ players who clear +15 or higher keys who too don’t have sockets, or people who’ve cleared layer 8 of twisting corridors without a single added socket, etc while you’re at it?
simply put, sockets are 100% pure and unequivocally optional and not a requirement for any core content 9.0 has to offer.
Hating the Maw gives us motivation to conquer it and save the souls of our people. Mission accomplished. I really hate that place, and I want to free everyone trapped inside.
This bug just needs to be highlighted to Blizz. People making groups on the Maw should be on the same phase with each other after joining the group.
It’s a bit complicated and chaotic now becoz people of differing phase with some people on warmode on and some people on warmode off trying to be on the same phase inside the Maw. It just needs to be addresses to Blizz. Have you relayed this bug to them? No. So, no changes until someone highlight this to Blizz.
The temporary solution here is people should not jump to Maw until joining the Maw group. After they join, they hop in to Maw… Then everybody would be of the same phase. People who are already inside the Maw when they join the Maw group should leave the Maw and re-enter to be of the same phase with other people.
I went to the maw today on my mage, I asked if the hunt in the beastwarrens was fixed. No one replied so I left because I couldn’t be bothered to run all the way out there to check.
This. When the thought that goes through my head when I jump into the Maw is not “let’s kick some a*s!” but “sigh time to make the doughnuts…” something is not right. A lot of the Maw stuff feels like chores, not like adventures.
I avoid that place as much as possible. I go there for my weekly soul collection and while I’m there, if there happens to be a daily that’s in the same area I am standing, I’ll do that. Using group finder is impossible due to the phasing thing.
