Because it benefits me and my schedule? It’s fun? Got a million reasons. It’s also ironic that the only content you’ve done this expansion is LFR

I don’t need to do anything else because LFR is all you need to do. If it wasn’t available then I would raid. Didn’t I already say this? Yes…yes I did.
And many many other people are just like me. They do LFR because that’s all you have to do, but if it wasn’t available then they would raid.
at a guess…they seem to think its not a social and non solo activity unless…
you are waiting for player(S) to get a smoke break in
someone needs 5 more minutes not smoking related…usually the ones who complain when the get there and the smoker said well I’ll burn another one
then when in raid yelling at each in comms.
LFR is solo in that it lacks this. If half decent players…they don’t stand in fire. Case of this LFR if you see a circle around you most even know…don’t stand by other people all by themselves.
They have installed DBM and its read and do for the other stuff. Boss 1 is vague for DBM. so here is the only time a raid crew needs to speak. When dbm says switch targets what it means is CC the shade and do not shoot it and switch back to the real bear.
Boss 2 and 3 near as I can tell…need no comms beyond “if you have the red line on you go to orb” on boss 3
I saw that line my first time, I did what it said…it worked. It didn’t need minutes of crap talk in chat, and hearing some players god awful tunes in comms. I know my tastes in music is not for everybody. Its why I get really good ear buds/headphones.
I hear it, Others don’t…we all win…
So if it’s all you need to do why is it a bad thing?

I don’t want to take anything from you. I want to replace what you have with a better experience. Just because YOU don’t have time doesn’t mean the game should be ruined for everyone else. I haven’t raided since Cata and you know why? Because LFR is so easy to just queue for and kill bosses. No effort. Don’t have to coordinate. It’s just a loot pinata. And it’s fast too!! But I haven’t raided in almost 10 years and that’s the trade off. People choose LFR OVER raiding because it’s just easier.
It’s sad.
And you want to do that by… Taking away something. Do you not see the contradictory statements? Also pugging is not better at all. It’s way way worse.
People choose LFR for a million different reasons. I choose it because I can dedicate an hour to a wing, get a shot at loot, and get on with my life with minimal investment.
Live and let live. If you want to raid harder stuff, go do it.
If you’re like me and only have time to raid at, like, 4am on a Sunday morning, LFR can be a bit of fun to see the bosses.
But it’s in an awkward position right now, in my opinion. For people who use LFR to gear, the content will be made mostly irrelevant next week with upgraded Covenant armor. (I suppose the same can be said about M0.)
They wnt to squeeze it all out , time played.
With how gearing works, they can’t use that anymore to justify the stretch of release for LFR wings. It’s just ‘‘We will keep you subbed if you want to play it… pace it… blah blah blah’’’
WoW was never a pick up and play kind of game. And the reason it’s suffered so much over the years is because people like you want to turn it into a single player experience like mario bros where you can play for an hour and be done. I know this may be hard for you to understand, but some people spend 15 hours a day playing this game. And people like you push wow in a direction that makes it so those people have nothing to do.
If you don’t have time for wow then you don’t have time for wow. But don’t whine and complain and say the game should cater to you. LFR was a mistake and people like you should leave the game if you don’t have time for anything but LFR.
Interesting take seeing as you’ve done LFR three times in this expansion.

People are not going to step up for the most part if you drop LFR. They will just do something else or quit I believe. Most of the people I know that have any real interest in doing normal are already doing it.
People have convinced themselves for years that players will step up, get better, etc. and we’ve never really seen it happen. Ghostcrawler found that out the hard way with heroics in Cata.

Classic is proof that they will. There is no LFR and yet way more people are raiding there then ever raided in Vanilla.

That was last week. This week involves a certain ‘setback’ individual. Still, the timing should be about right, and I’m fine with that.

They don’t make enough content for the appetite of today’s player.
Any time you ask yourself why a thing is the way it is in this game, the answer will usually be “So that you aren’t done so quick”
That’s why.
If they are going to do this for LFR, then do it for all difficulties, let’s see how quickly the anti-LFR crowd would change their tune if they were gated like the casuals. They did this in Wrath during ICC so bring it back, make everyone have to wait or no one waits.
Of course more people are raiding in Classic than in Vanilla. In Vanilla 75% of players didn’t even hit max level, heck many didn’t even know raiding existed.
That however doesn’t prove the players that are currently just running LFR would step up to normal. In fact I’d say it’s very likely that those just using LFR haven’t done much past leveling and 5 mans in Classic.
Classic raiding may be fairly easy compared to today’s standards but generally speaking those using LFR don’t do so because it is easy, they do so due to not having a set time commitment. It can literally be done whenever you as an individual want too. Classic raiding still requires a scheduled time commitment, which is why I seriously doubt that Classic and Retail would have little in common.
