Why the lack of Customization?

I remember, we used to disagree on this back then, ne?

How the “totally not mighty” -In this case: me- have fallen: now I´m an advocate for Dark Ranger stuff, go figures.

In a way this is better, it´s awful to be locked to one niche theme.

That’s me and it’s mostly true imo. But I really dislike Void Elves in the general design because they’re as lazy/bad as LFD imo. No mutations or distinct difference between the two when there was a lot of play and creativity that could have been explored. LFD even got less due to losing multiple class combinations :frowning:

Blood Elves and Draenei are essentially cursed because their AR can essentially share (and get more) due to their implementation.

I mean I used to support HE options just because I felt bad for the HE fans and I never thought Blizzard would allow BEs to lose visual uniqueness without giving something big like that in return.

So I guess we’re both in a similar case in a way.

It’s why I opposed any further loss of uniqueness for BEs when I saw that same energy wasn’t being returned and why it like Tarrok pointed out is now a problem because Blizzard continued to make it one where as before the call for a second visual theme wasn’t in response to the loss of visual uniqueness.

Lol, people can change thoughts and opinions, I used to be more neutral about pretty much sharing anything to the point where I once hoped that Blood Elves and Void Elves and Nightborne and Night Elves shared everything 100% customization wise but then I changed due to people being really mean to me about my thoughts and opinions so change is never a bad thing dearie. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Cues my campaign to give Blood Magic via Dark Animus the relevance as far as customizations are concerned in the Belf stuff… that one the Velves CAN´T poach no matter how much and how loud they qq about it. That one as per the story is Belf exclusive as far as elf races are concerned.

But this would be more complex stuff, nothing that would come anytime soon.

For all races with jewelry can we get gem color and metal color as separate options, please? We need more colors for both as well. It really limits mog you can use

Also, for draenei, it’s kind of strange that purple gem has so many metal colors while the other gems don’t.

There´s a reason I mentioned like a month ago that a color wheel is quite of a MUST as far as jewerly customizations are concerned.

To try and match “shades” when this game uses like a billion different metal shades with any new armor they deploy is an exercise in frustration.

Color wheel for everything would be the ideal :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I think it should be essential for eye colors, hair colors, jewelry colors both metal and gems.

And don’t anyone come at me saying I’ve said this many times before because I know I have and lots of stuff gets repeated in this thread because we still want it and we still haven’t gotten it. :yum: :yum: :yum:

We all kinda would totally appreciate this tbqh, and anyone that says the contrary is a lying liar who lies.

I remember Phaelia (I think it was her?) wanting green hair for her Belf toon. I know I´d totally rock pink with my Sunwalker Tauren.

imagine all the “My Little Pony” dreams that option would open up.

Being strawberry blonde on some of my belfs would make me so happy.

Yeah I can’t remember where the Dark Animus suggestion came from, but that was one of my favorite suggestions for BEs to explore further.

I’m not really sure what Draenei can get to really become more unique outside them just getting their purple eyes :woman_shrugging: who knows, maybe a merging of the Eredar can happen. Idk.

Maybe Blizzard can take sometime in the next expansion to dive into racial themes more instead of making everything doom and gloom.

This is why it comes off as a first pass. Like look how convoluted that is for customizations lol.

Purple eyes for draenei would be great.

Also for all light themed eyes, I’d like more color options. White, lighter yellows, that sort of thing.

saw this in another thread. the iconography perfectly reflects what you would expect the void elves to be using. and are they void elves?? they have tendril hair, and even fangs and small protruding spikes

those on void elves would look good

Yours truly made it. It came to me in one of the regular “give us the Belf hair colors” thread, cause frankly I´m one lore junkie and I was SO salty at the Blood Magic cameos in Nazmir getting completely zero relevance in the Horde storyline. And I realized then that -different to eye colors-, the Dark animus stuff has no means as per the narrative to become “Velf friendly” stuff. They don´t own it, ergo they can´t use it, period.

It was one bad tease from the dev team.

Maybe now that the “let´s make the players be at each other throats” executives are out we may indeed get some constructive storyline for once.

Separating male Draenei horns from their hair would be a huge because that would give you so many customization options.

But yah, kinda same not sure what else? Purple velen eyes? Big ol velen beard?

When the original barbershop came out, Blizz mostly gave existing hair styles to other races and Draenei and Blood Elves ended up sharing a lot of their hair styles. So basically give LFD some of the edgy void elf hair styles and void elves can get a nice LFD pompadour or flowy braided pony tail?? :man_shrugging:

Also male Eredar have black hair which I would really like for core Draenei race. There’s also an LFD NPC in the Iron Forge brewfest grounds that has black hair too.

yes pls

Yeah I’m really not sure tbh. There’s not a lot of themes that have been explored for Draenei to dive into. The unification of Eredar was all I could think of off the top of my head. The other one that hasn’t really been dived into is how important the Arcane is to the Draenei culture. I’m not sure what else there is or how that can help in making Draenei unique to LFD further.

For me, when I sit down and count the actual number of things like hair style, skin colour, faces, whatever. Some are extremely lacking than others, especially when you compare them to core Draenei or any other race.

For example LFD 7 skin colours come 9.1.5 vs the 11 Nightbourne will have and the exisitng 15 core Draenei have. I don’t want them to necessarily copy these races, like I actually think the new gold/bronze skin they are getting is actually a cool and neat direction they are going with the race. I’m also fond of the mint green.

I also half joke about LFD getting some of the Void Elf hair but also just as an example that you don’t even have to design them new hair just giving them more even if it’s just from existing hair styles from elsewhere like when the original Barbershop came out would go along way giving them more options.

Also for male separating the horns from the hair style I would be happy with because sometimes the hair clips with gear and that annoys me a lot haha.

On that note, male LFD will have more facial hair than core Draenei which are all better quality. Core Draenei a lot of their facial hair is chunky low graphic facial hair from TBC

Leaning in on the arcane would actually be really cool tbh. Also could lean on them being a nomadic people for centuries and how that could influence their culture.

More nature oriented things like flowers for their hair or small totem pendants or camouflage to represent the Rangari and the Shaman which the LFD wouldn’t had ties to, fighting in demonic worlds and all.
Maybe some glowing mushrooms as pendants and so. To represent Zangarmarsh which were the place they lived when they escaped the legion in Outland after the destruction of Karabor.

Leaning into the arcane with some arcane markings and so on would fit well too.

They could also get tattoos that represent different divisions they had since Draenor. Like the rangari, the sha’tari skyguard, the artificers, etc…

Or something to link them to the fey dragons, since it seems something they started taming in Draenor.

Finally, broken customization.

Those are special skins from Mortal Kombat 11 pvp. I suggested these in Fens thread as an example of tattoo arrangement and opacity, but the other aspects of their appearance, as you mentioned, would also be fitting for Void Elves, including Cetrions hair(the woman on the far right)

Silver heritage colors would also be awesome :ok_hand:

Yas! Let’s swap :hugs:

Arcane tattoos for Draenei would definitely be sick. The Arcane was originally the center of their society before losing Argus to the Legion.

It would definitely be a great customization to set them apart from LFD, who tend to see the Arcane in a similar light as Night Elves do.

I felt the need to drop this here;

This definitely also showcases the Rangari and Shaman aspects of their people.

Yes please

As a customization or a subrace, this would be sickening.
