Are you really declaring the statements of the art director as lore statements?
And actually, the onus is on the person making the claim to provide the source, if you’re on the helf discord and you guys don’t have it a resource thread is handy, make a thread where you can post links to things to use later, makes arguing easier.
Mag at least recognizes I’m a lot more neutral (or at least I think they do). Only issue with how Mag views me is they don’t think I care about void options it seems.
No one should be forced to follow a side just because. You should follow what you believe and hopefully that jives with others in a similar camp.
Still, mental health is a real thing and shouldn’t be used in disagreements over pixels.
I struggle with such things myself, even more so of late, and I personally don’t like seeing it used so frivolously especially cause I’ve lost a few friends because their mental health was treated as a joke rather than something serious.
I know you of course, and I know you don’t mean it extremely seriously, but it can make a difference.
I agree, and am guilty more often than not of looking even at posts from folk I’ve blocked. I’m not immune to “starting drama” by any means.
Best to let it be though.
I absolutely will! Just waiting till I get home again. (I have been kinda looking on the road here.)
I will re-sub just to make my Alliance High Elf as a show of support for it as well, but only once the patch is actually released.
Oh boy. Not here to debate you over what is plainly said by Blizz. Take it as you will, makes no difference to what was said by an authoritative figure on the team.
I’m not on the helf discord anymore, just speaking from the past experiences. I don’t find it a good use of time really to parse through dev statements anyway.
It’s clear that these days you simply have to request for what you want added and Blizz will try to get it included in.
I’m really happy with the options I’ll have for my Nightborne characters (and Lightforged, Void Elf, and Highmountain too) come 9.1.5. That’s not to say everything is perfect, but I am not going to snub the good things I see so far. I just hope Blizzard sees how much engagement and goodwill these customization efforts generate with the playerbase and make it a regular, and ongoing thing they keep adding to for every race at frequent and regular intervals.
How many times was the statement “He’s just the game director and cares about raids, he doesn’t know jack about lore so him saying blood elves are high elves is fake news!” made?
He was talking about the artwork not the lore of the race. Again you take a statement by a dev or a blue and twist it to mean what you want it to. Yes it’s a blizzard statement, but it was a statement on character models not the lore.
I’m trying hard to convince a few friends not to unsub / to sub again only to support this sudden wave of customizations. People say we should let money speak when Blizzard does something we don’t like (less arguing, more unsubbing), and I agree with that to some extent, but the contrary is especially true as well - when Blizzard does something we all like, the best way to show them that’s the direction they should follow from now on is precisely to stay subbed.
Idk because I’ve personally never made such a statement.
I took the path of taking what Ion said in earnest and still arguing the case. Hence where we are today.
I think you just have to accept that whatever High Elf customization comes will be given to both Thalassian groups at this point. You’ll be disappointed if you think it’ll go to only one or the other.
Asking for specific Blood Elven or Void Elven options is the only way to ensure getting options that won’t be shared between the Thalassians.
Can I be disappointed by the complete and utter lack of effort that would represent? They can still make unique stuff for both races even if they already made the mistake of letting them look alike.
You made me sprout my juice on the monitor, yuck!!!
Good image though. I know I´m SO guilty of such stupid behaviour as the one pictured on the image it shouldn´t be funny in the first place.
And you didn´t said anything regarding the images posted in the Belf thread T_T… had you abandoned us already? /ugly cries with mucus falling out and all
I know, but honestly Mag chose the most controversial and less unique example out of all the rest, Lann.
Alleria -as much as it pains some of us- exist and is the poster child for “Farstrider warpaint / tattoos” in WoW. And she´s a Velf. It is a given the Velf players and Helf players WILL want to use those aesthetics just like we Belfers want the sweet scar of Lor´thie or the tattoos of Rommath.
If you’re ok with no longer getting high elf customization on blood elves then sure? Just saying only specific to blood elf and void elf is guaranteed to not be shared. Hence the approach Ariel and Fen take.
