I think it’s less one sided more that many see blood elves as high elves (they are… They only changed their name) and since the blue eyes were supposed to come back later anyways its a lot less impactful that blood elves got more of what they already are.
Is it though? When I went there wearing it it looked different to me.
Yeah, I wouldn’t expect an explanation either. It’d be nice though.
Undoubtedly.
I do agree with this. Missed it when I read earlier.
We don’t need to sling that sort of stuff towards each other.
I appreciate that.
Though I recognize many pros feel very differently.
This though.
Wish more people were more even… They’re pixels, we don’t need to get super messed up over em…
Yeah really don’t need the back and forth…
I’d bet we’ll see those ARs a bit further down the road… 9.2ish and all.
I don’t delete any of my replies but sometimes I regret some of them and in this thread specifically Blizzard is actually reading our replies for general customizations ideas for all races so I don’t understand why of all threads people want to argue in this one so much the last few days.
I mean they can think this ofc, but even the developer when talking about High Elf customization said BE were the closest, not that they were/are High Elves. Point here being despite developer statement, players believe what they wish, so not sure it’s necessary.
I haven’t been there in over a year so I could be misremembering, but I recall many lauding it as Dark Troll customization.
I´m aware at least of one “anti” who feels similar at least regarding yourself.
Cause is as it should be, I don´t remember signing no contract when I affiliated to the Belf group that explicitly stated I had to dislike every and any Helfer / Velfer out there or my “affiliation” would be revoked. I disagree in a regular basis with even the Belfers in some stuff ffs (We both have disagreed in stuff, and last time I saw we stayed “forum buddies” XDXD).
Heck, I should probably follow my own advice and don´t get baited so easily when nice people like you get the heat for no reason tbqh. In that you are a much more grown up than myself, Fen.
Go check the Belf thread when you can, I posted more fanart that hopefully more popular posters can post with their fancy T3 status in here.
I just hope Blizzard sees the loss of visual uniqueness for Blood Elves, and matches the same energy they gave to Void Elves that allowed them RP tools to now offer an entirely extra set of visuals thematically.
And doesn’t share further options on the either of the main themes of either race moving forward when additions are granted because each one should encompass their main theme better than the other. Void elves will always be able to be a Void Elf with no comparison, Blood Elves shouldn’t have to have additions on their main visual theme handed over anymore.
I suspect THIS, the “Blood Elves shouldn’t have to have additions on their main visual theme handed over anymore” may be the issue, Lann.
Belves don´t fulfill ONE niche theme, they have like 4 themes all things considered (just like Nelves have more themes than “Druid”. Nelf players petitioning for Highborne stuff have a legitimate basis to do so, after all Mordent exists and he still can get his own set of exclusive aesthetics taht call back to the Aszhara times in the future.
Just so you know, I am tired of doing this. Reason being people who tend to debate as much as they do I would assume would be up to all the recent statements about it.
The High Elf discord for instance collates all statements said regarding High Elves.
But here
According to a dev interview Ion gave several months ago, Blood Elves were originally unintended to have blue eyes in Shadowlands, but later on that decision was reversed following team discussions. If the art department was involved, what was the reasoning that led to blue eyes being added for Void Elves and Blood Elves?
This is another place where there was a race, High Elves, in the game which hadn’t really been represented on player characters. Blood Elves were the closest, but had felt green eyes. It was an opportunity where we had a number of elven races, and we could tie it back to their roots, letting players choose where they want to align and what fantasy to play out. We did have a lot of discussion about it, ultimately we might do more in the future, but for now we’re providing the option to have a few High Elf customizations available.
Yes it can be a real needle in the haystack, but everytime someone asks it’s like doing the work for em. Like “you’re debating so hard against it how come you can’t find the source” type deal. Anyways again, I’m just tired of doing it, I do understand it can be difficult to find.
My sub was expired but I resubbed once we saw what was actually coming in 9.1.5 to try and provide some positive reinforcement and show support for these new efforts.
I still sustain that LF and NB should get at least a toggle to make their tattoos more visible (or darker skintones idk)… your LF and NB literally have NO visible tattoos on the image and that´s disappointing.
I totally understand because I pop in and out of these threads lately as well, mainly just giving likes and a comment or two here or there but I’m much more focused on stuff I’m doing in game and lately it’s gearing up my Goblin Warlock, unlocking my buildings, etc.
I do like seeing the stuff you keep sharing for the upcoming patch though so thanks for that.
There´s literally so much that can be done for ALL the races is not even funny. I sprout mostly stuff about Belves and Forsaken, but fixing the male Nelf faces should be done NOW that the scowl was taken care of for their AR.
So many fixes that are low hanging fruit…
Talking about gearing, I should be pugging my last mythic dungeon to see if the RNG gods will screw me up as usual -my best buddie the warlock was complaining an hour ago, cause he got pants… and his legendary as a Destro IS the pants.
