The toggle on the Forsaken race is not a bad idea either, but Phaelia was right: you implement it now and everybody and their mother will discard the regular Forsaken model ASAP.
Maybe implement if AFTER the Forsaken model gets the cool stuff it needs to “become a contender”? I know i have an outrageous list of petitions for them -not terribly popular unfortunately, I´d kill for a “spider in the hair” toggle for example-, and I rather they get more “zombie” stuff before getting the models of other races implemented.
Also, i forgot to mention the comedic potential on that scenario related to Velonara AND Moorgoth. Now THAt would be funny AF. I can see him jumping excitedly to “welcome her”.
Yeah I remember her post on twitter about it. Such a basic feature. “We want you to represent yourselves…but it needed a passion project from a designer gone rogue to implement glasses for our audience of video gamers”
Imagine funding your art team, that is clearly talented and passionate as well as the folks that carry your expansions immersion, for reuseable assets that your players would love for their characters.
The reason a second visual theme for BEs is important imo is because it should get that after losing uniqueness in favor of VEs second visual theme. Coupled with having to now fight for exclusivity on rightful BE requests to go solely to BEs because Blood Elves should be allowed to better portray their own main visual theme than the AR of Void Elves, I would like to know we have at least secured the same that was given to VEs (a second visual theme) as we move forward.
Dark Rangers are my favorite and would seem the easiest a lot like what they did for VEs, but I’m open to literally anything that fulfills that goal in all honesty.
Don´t make too much fun, but I literally asked for scarabs, crocroaches and yes, worms as cosmetic features that could replace an eye inside the eyeball, for example.
It increases the scary factor on Forsaken exponentially (yes, shameless inspiration in the first and second Mummy movies).
Because the leadership is filled with tryhards who think only raiding matters. So all the investment goes into making raids harder and harder, new tech for it, new systems to have borrowed power to MAXIMIZE your character, new ways to stop gearing, etc…
I know not all the art team works on this (though a lot do with raid visuals and icons for all these systems and effects and so). However their priority is hiring more coders for this and less budget for the art team.
Yep. They bounced when the lawsuit dropped. Sucks as well because she did a lot of the Draenei WoD assets and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was passionate for the Draenei
I know it’s not character artists, but Nathria was full of custom assets and was absolutely massive.
There’s times I wish those efforts went towards evergreen content, because it’ll be another 5 years before we maybe get Timewalking Nathria, and by that point, I’ll have every appearance out of it from soloing it, so what’s the point?
You mean the same management that’s said the faction split matters so very much, while pretty much funneling everybody into arenas for PVP, letting wPvP and Battlegrounds rot due to lack of incentive, and letting a faction drop as low as 30% rep for the part of the game where the factions are supposed to matter? (but whoops, they don’t, because it’s all horde vs horde in rated?)
Yep.
Priorities, I guess. Especially when you outright say you’ve never played both sides of your game.
Strange how only one part of the game seems to be getting the extra polish right now.
Pretty much. I’m not sure why they would be ok with participation of one faction dropping. Can hardly call it a two faction game if there is a majority faction that has all the players participating in the competitive content.
Yeah.
It’s getting bad with casual content too. Much easier to find stuff like Islands on Horde, but Alliance it’s really hit or miss if we can find a third for Mythics. LFR has a noticeable difference in quality too. And don’t get me started on random BGs . Been meaning to actually do a proper study on it, but at this point, I’m so tired of feedback not mattering, I just don’t want to anymore. Maybe things will hopefully change for the better so it feels worth the days of work.
Seen multiple realms collapse over the last few realms for Alliance, and I’m tired of being personally blamed for being on those formerly balanced servers by the usual forum narc too, but apparently that also is both not happening, and also the player’s fault.
When a situation gets this bad, and morale is this low, that side that’s struggling shouldn’t have it’s needs go unmet, it’s requests go to the other faction, and put up with having people hassle them for wanting things to be righted, especially because it might infringe on their own requests that currently don’t exist. But, a lot of this is happening - High Elves as a subrace doesn’t fix what happened in BFA as a whole, nor the issues with models like male humans being atrocious and ugly to a lot of people, male night elves having their postures ruined and request for the faces to be fixed, and mechagnomes in general.
The Horde playerbase can whine about not getting something while others are (…or, in this case, while they’re getting a massive update themselves to their worst model) as much as they want. They can still play the game reasonably, are having their worst model fixed (…worgen btw, still can’t pick hair colours.) and got a ton of their requests given as is.
There is a difference in how things approached, and not having x or y doesn’t change that.
Also, because it’s finally quieted down and we might be able to talk about it.
A quick option that could potentially be easily hotfixed in for everybody - even for 9.1.5 - is extra colours for Death Knights.
We have schools of blood and unholy; red and green should have been options years ago.
I’d also wager some necromantic purples would be nice too as a bonus.
Being stuck with one eye colour to keep with the lich king aesthetic has gotten really boring over the years. Iconic, but, we really need to have some lore friendly colours to move fowards with.
Even if we’re stuck with the same effect across all of them, just changing the colour would be massive.
I would like to see Dwarves get some love too. Dwarves imo have never felt exactly right since the WoD model update. They sort of lost their classic feel to me and tbh they lost their classic Firey Orange hair and have yet to get it back. The closest ive seen to that classic Orange color is the Gnomish Orange. Perhaps they could port that over to Dwarves as well? Secondly a lot of their facial hair clips pretty bad. The classic “Full” beard doesn’t fit well with most mustaches. Most of them clip through it pretty bad. Mostly because with the new model they added those braid things onto the “Full” beard that didnt exist there on the old model. Maybe this could be fixed if they get like a “Sideburn” option that some other races have that could remove those braids on the side.
While this isn’t a character customization necessarily im still going to add it here anyway because it ruined the fantasy of Dwarf hunters for me.
Gun Sounds. Another casualty from the WoD updates was the removal of gun sounds to basically sound like peashooters. Would be nice to see this brought back. If it annoys people that bad just make it a toggle option. Thats what should have been done in the first place rather than remove it entirely. Or give it the same sound as the rogue’s Pistol Shot.
Tbh though i even miss the old Bow/Crossbow sounds too.
