No, most of the hate is not unreasonable. We’ve had a MASSIVE content drought, and most of the content that is there isn’t fun. Plus the SL world is bland and drab. The expansion is crap in almost every aspect, IMO.
You’re not wrong. It’s my least favorite expansion too. Even leveling was pretty bad compared to other expansions.
False comparison. Most of us are only asking for good quality, not “Exceeds prior expansion’s performance.” That has been the last 3.
It seems like you’re “refuting” but you’re taking a stance and taking it out of context to what many are saying.
If I pay for a burger, and it is advertised as fresh, I’m expecting at least some level of quality, and a bare minimum of ‘fresh.’
When you overhype your expansion and pretend to listen, and you fail to meet half the player bases’ expectations that you set, you can’t really be upset about them not liking it.
I don’t anticipate McDonald’s to provide a gourmet burger, why? They’re not. In many cases I’m happy if the bun is even on correctly.
We can continue lowering the standards, and try to take away from peoples’ genuine frustrations, but in the end people will leave and find something else to do, as they have been until they have to decide on resubbing.

Torghast is a chore and mostly sucks, the maw is terrible, dungeons and raid is meh, pvp has regressed terribly. It’s not unreasonable that we had high expectations. It would take a near miracle to turn this expansion around.

Nobody expected Shadowlands to be better than Wrath. But we’re not supposed to be comparing apples to oranges here. We’re comparing a sporty ride to a luxury one.
When you abandon your core audience chasing the e-sport crowd you deserve all the tomatoes and toilet paper you get thrown at you.

1 - Too difficult to have alts
2 - Too difficult to get gear (I think they may have made it a bit easier but only when a TON of people left)
3 - PvP gearing is a UTTER disgrace and a slap to the face of every PvP’er

These are my reasons why I left but I am so hopelessly addicted I am back to try 9.1 but I have a feeling I wont be staying long. Luckily I am gearing up a new character so the legendary changes don’t really affect me

People just like to complain honestly. They’ll still play the game because its the best MMORPG out and they know that.
Personally i’m enjoying SL so far, I think blizzard did a nice job.

Shadowlands launched November 23, 2020. If you bought the base game and paid subscription every month since then you paid an average of $165 with over 7 months of no new content… for one dungeon and a new raid :^)
Meanwhile they laid off 100s of staff members so their top execs can line their pockets…i think the game is perfectly worthy of peoples hate/criticism. The company itself, even moreso.
And what If I told you I thought Wrath was the second worst expansion in WoW? See what I mean? So many expansions, so many opinions, so many threads that just say things like “This expansion sucks” or “Wrath was great; do that again.”
I get that players feel the game should represent their philosophies; you can read back through the comments at all the players who mentioned how Blizzard ignores feedback.
Don’t get me wrong: I too want the game to represent my ideas, but even saying that out loud reminds me of the old story of the two men and their donkey, Heiny. Everyone kept telling them how they should be traveling, but in the end, because the men were trying to please everyone, they lost their Heiny.
I don’t know about Blizzard catering to the “e-crowd” or about feedback on what classes should be nerfed or boosted or any of that or even how much or how little people like or want this or that in the game.
All I know is that I either like or don’t like a given expansion. I don’t really go much further that that. Like you, I don’t particularly like SL. I really, really liked MoP (def. my favorite expansion). Loved questing in Cata and garrisons in WoD.
But I would drive myself nuts trying to figure out all the little nooks and crannies of bad that accompanied each (class imbalance, grinding, PvP—all the common complaints), and I would give myself high blood pressure if I tried to, so I choose not to worry about it. I simply limit myself to liking and expansion or not. That’s it. If I like it, I play. If I don’t, I unsub and then try again next time.
But hey, you are correct: SL is not great, and I have extra tomatoes and TP you can throw if you run out. As for me, I think I’ll pop back over to SWTOR for a while once my sub runs out.
This isnt WW2 Germany guy…we are ALLOWED to hate anything we want to hate.
Hate is only unreasonable when its directed at something or someone who literally has no choice in the matter.
When I hate something about you that you DO, such as a poor job fixing my car, there is nothing unreasonable about it

I want it to be ENJOYABLE and FUN and ENTERTAINING…NOT make me hate logging in, like SLs has done since 9/9.
My ‘philosphies’ have zero to do with blizzard thinking its ‘content’ to make everything in the game Slow-Root-STun and then packing it all into tight corridors, lol
Of course, it is reasonable for those that hate it.

I WILL complain when I dont like the product Im paying for. Liking the complaining isnt relevant in any way, shape or form. The complaint is legitimate, that is the ONLY factor that matters.

no, SLs sucks pretty hard. I still play the game…many of us do…SOLELY because there is all that great OLD content prior to SLs or BFA to play. Remove all content from classic thru Legion right now and I’ll be unsubbed again within 60 seconds.
The ONLY thing saving many of us from walking entirely is the old expansions.
Their philosophies on what a game should be, pal. At no point did I ever bring personal views into any of this. I mean, where did you even get that?
Regardless, this all goes back to my main point: if you don’t like this expansion, try again next time. I promise there are better things in the world to do than to log in every day for something you hate. For example, when my sub runs out, I’ll head over to SWTOR for a while and run a few flashpoints with the fellas.
Not every game is going to super enjoyable.

you said the hate is unreasonable. To YOU that may be true…but many of us hate this expansion…and its the fault of the company who keeps making the same stupid mistakes the last four expansions or so.
