I’m so sick and tired of getting useless Echoing Void for my Destruction Warlock and Shadow Priest. And I’m so tired of getting “Avoidance is increased by X% of Y”.
I mean, I’m not that picky, but it seems like the things you get should be useful and not a hindrance. Obviously the things like Avoidance, Versatility, etc… aren’t ideal for most people, or even desired but they don’t hinder you. Twilight Dev for a caster? Not ideal but if you get it, easy enough to just stand within 20 yards or so of the mobs. Echoing Void? Welp…let me go stack right on the tank so it actually hits. It’s dumb lol.
Never understood why Blizzard didn’t make EV or TD proc on the mob itself, so it’d always hit, oh wells.
I just want tentacles for my priest, for the aesthetic.
So much truth. First week of this tier, our Prot Paladin tank got the sword off Wrathion and it rolled Infinite Stars rank 3. And like the next day he got a rank 3 Twilight Dev. The damage he was putting out was stupid. Was seriously a struggle to even keep aggro when I had the boss. Meanwhile, I still haven’t gotten a Infinite Stars(which I don’t care), and I FINALLY got a good Twilight Dev piece this week from my 5 mask Vision run.
World of Warcraft is not Diablo. It should not have Diablo’s horrible power imbalance and scaling inside of it. Nor should it have Diablo’s awful RNG loot mechanics.
Corruption is everything that is awful within Diablo condensed into a single system and shoved into WoW.
Corruption is a broken system. The risk reward factor is boring, tedious, and painful to sit through. Having to grind out yet another grind on top of the pre-existing azerite and essence grinds is just too much.
There’s another problem, it’s a risk for some classes, the low mobility ones: DK, Warlock, Priest, Paladin.
For others it’s a minor nuisance: Druid, DH, Monk, Warrior.
Definitely still a risk… especially on fights with really tight mechanics. If I cant move left or right and a Thing spawns… or if I’m not paying attention… or if I spawn 2 in a row…
Just because it’s less of a risk doesn’t mean it’s not a risk.
And to be fair I think the risk part could be done better so it hits all classes equally. I hope they keep the risk vs reward in SL, maybe on soulbinds
I agree, I like the idea of being able to gamble a bit to see if I can’t push myself a bit harder.
I think if the carious corruption traits were better, rather than everyone just wanting rank 3 TD for dps or w/e for PvP. Takes the choice out of the equation really and of 20 gear rolls, 19 of them will likely be disappointing, so does that 1 upgrade outweigh all those bad rolls, sadly I’d have to say yes, it does.
Unskilled players like it because they can pretend the extra damage is skill. Well, the unskilled players that are too clueless even to understand the basics of the system.
I don’t hate it a lot, but I’m also playing pretty casually right now and just doing 5 mask visions on my BFA main and dinking around with alts.
But I will say it’s pretty annoying to have a good set going and then you get some awesome piece of gear and it’s like “Well I can’t just add 50 corruption to my set” forcing you to hold onto non-corruption pieces to swap back in and out. It’s actually kind of a reforge-esque type problem that Blizzard removed because they didn’t want us having to use an addon to calc the proper reforge. Well now I got a new piece of corruption that I want to use, so let me see what raidbots says to do with all my gear.
The weekly -3 corruption count helps, but it’s not very fast at taking out corruption so you can swap over. I’ve tried to keep myself pretty low on it (20-35) as a solo player so I’m constantly waiting to get my corruption down so I can swap over another piece.
