How many wsg games you see going on genius?

There have been some WSG games going on this week and a FC with up to four other “excellent at PVP” Discord friends can go against a full stack premade and win. Fun is more important than efficiency. So this should be fun for you as you are an amazing PVPer as per your words.
Maybe you haven’t played long enough to know this but it’s possible to queue more than one battleground at a time and you can queue AV with a 5 man.
What are you going for exactly and do you enjoy AV? I’ll try to answer you in an honest way.
all the pvp gear now that a normal person can actually rank. W/e gets the most honor I guess. I know AV was meta in classic and som I would assume its the same?
I don’t mind AV i am more worried about starting now and then nobody queing when i get to rank 10-12 because i started this late

It might be too late if all you want to do is AV and you want R14 specifically. That’s because the meta might shift. You are probably fine if you’re willing to be adaptable if it does.
The first caps are very low, like 33.5k, 110k etc. So you might as well just do that and take it from there.

There’s no hurry to achieve anything in Era, mybe rank 10 in the new year for me, who knows, some people need to go back to retail and play the rush to have anything asap.
They didn’t cut it in half. They were buffed by 2X by mistake so they were fixed back to normal levels.
I’d like to see some proof that people are actually joining a raid, going AFK and getting geared. If this is common you should be able to show me some logs or something with 1 or more people doing virtually nothing for an entire run.

You pay to be afk though as carry - there’s a price to it (in the form of an oppportunity cost where you don’t get the payout you would get had you not been afk). The difference in pvp especially in AV, you dont face that cost. Your contribution is minimal being 1/40th of the BG hence your win rate % is not quite as dependent on you ( in contrast to WSG or AB), and you still get a bulk of the honor by being in the BG since the honor from “objectives” is shared with everyone in the instance, and if you’re extra, you afk nearby fight zones and choke points where you can leech honor from kills
I think there should be more severe suspensions for repeatedly getting caught afk’ing in battlegrounds. Bots, boosting, gold buying and GDKP should all be banned. That being said, it is highly unlikely blizzard would pay for the man power required to enforce it.
I agree - I reported this one rogue that would afk every game and kept on seeing him, afk at the same spot game after game.
Their afk system needs to be more “on the ball” - Youre afk for a long enough time you get deserter. I’ve honestly been in AV where I take a work call for several minutes and I get back to my screen and I’m still there lol
They also need to nerf AV honor pretty significantly IMO to reflect effort necessary (which is extremely minimal) given the lazy useless player base. Yes the 500k cap is high but (I don’t know the math and I asked that question in another thread since I’m too lazy to do research), that’s not the minimum you have to do. If you’re rank 13 you don’t HAVE to do 500k to make progress (I don’t think?) so making honor nerfs to a bg where you don’t have to participate to make significant honor gains for literally being afk seems fair and necessary.

I had to afk an AV for a couple minutes as one of my dogs fell and I needed to help him, if I had afk’d out that’d still be fair to other people even if there was a ‘legit’ reason to have left suddenly.
As it stands there are so many people afking behind trees that I use mind vision on and suddenly they start playing. It’s incredibly disheartening, they’re there and just not playing. Is it fun??? I wouldn’t play a game that’s not fun.

Again, it’s people ranking for gear, or title or whatever nonsense and ruining it for people like you that actively try and want to have fun. I’m sorry but that’s why the old system was better, sure the old system also had people like that and wasn’t perfect, but it put those that didn’t want to put in any effort way behind in terms of where they stood on the ladder, where they had to invest so much more time to be relevant.
The fact that the caps are fixed and static now and completely independent of everyone else makes it such that everyone is on a “solo mission” to rank 14, which can all be achieved in AV doing absolutely nothing.
It’s unfortunate, since I think the no downranking, allowing people to rank at their own pace is a really nice adjustment. But the remaining aspect of this new ranking system absolutely killed the game for everyone that actually wants to press a couple buttons on their keyboard and have fun.
Really need to please FURTHER nerf AV, buff for greater honor concerted efforts, allow matchmaking for groups in PVP. Make ranking not just who can AFK most hours in AV, make it such that it rewards players that try and have fun.
Singularly buffing WSG and AB won’t change player behaviours, they can still reach their cap AFK-ing in AV, and they will do it until the player base is completely dead and the queues get longer. There’s quite literally no reason for anyone ranking at the moment to queue anything else, unless they really enjoy WSG or AB since the honor gains is significantly worst than AV (given everyone is in the snow). I know someone mentioned in previous posts, their friend got 28K HPH in wsg last week, which I personally think is complete bull in an attempt to encourage people to queue. Grats, you got 10 geared people together, and queued a couple 6-min wins vs pugs before players on the receiving end rationally thought “ok well this is worst honor than AV and I’m having even less fun than AV, f wsg and I’m gonna queue AV again” - in other words, anyone that’s queueing WSG and AB as a premade rn thinking it’s good honor and it’ll boost the participation prob had their brain fried from too much AV afk-ing.

Is it sustainable now? no. But if it popped once every 5 minutes and your games are 10-15m long and you win them all?
3300+800 = 4100
4100 x 6(10m game/hr) = 24,600 - even more if youre full prem with 7m games. and even if games are 15m youre still at 20k
