Why someone can survive a gut wound, multiple arrows, etc

For real. That human might just decide the light is with them that day and get back up - orrrr you didn’t hurt that troll enough for the regeneration to stop kicking in.

With silver apparently… also Saronite. Or since lore went out the window some time after WotLK I can just shoot ghosts apparently…

Nah tis still in the lore - Azeroth’s awakening has empowered her chosen champions - the adventurers - and now we’ve got that kinda trans dimensional damage

That’s my explanation for why fire damage and resists and stuff don’t matter anymore - we’ve all outgrown them. That’s standard citizen stuff. We’re walking powerhouses.

Now that my sword cuts across dimensions…:

I’ve always preferred to think of hp as a mix of many things including health, skill, luck and fate. Blows that might have impaled a lesser combatant are miraculously dodged or deflected to be just scratches.

Unfortunately, there are always a few wolves out there who just don’t care about all these mystical things and make a chew toy out of me regardless of my level.

What I never understood was how humans overpowered the Orcs, who were a heck of a lot bigger with a heck of a lot bigger weapons. :man_shrugging:

Ah I think that’s a skill issue - a higher skilled human will be able to dodge orcish attacks and hit areas that are particularly damaging - tendons, internal orcgans, etc.

Orcs just gotta know how to hit the 'umies faster.

Gunpowder, it’s how we settled in the west too.

Back in the day there wasn’t gunpowder. Those alliance warriors used an ax!

But they were really sharp axes.

You kind of have to throw the real world ramifications of combat wounds in the dumpster or the game wouldn’t really work.

Mages wouldn’t be able to throw a fireball without setting themselves on fire.
Tanking wouldn’t be a thing, I don’t care how many hours you spend in the gym, if a dragon stomps on you, it’s game over.

Arms warrior connects with a broadsword= you dead.
Rogue ambushes you and stabs you in the back= you dead.
Druids would all be dead the first time they tried to shapeshift, either from the act itself or from it taking so long your attacker would basically have a free kill.

A Warlocks Demon would always be trying to find ways to put you in a situation where you would die, just for spite.
