Blizzard might have changed the racials, but the issue is not with them. It is with the morons that place “winning” or “being the best” above playing what they want to play. The issue is becoming more and more not that the alliance is worse then the Horde but that no one WANTS to play alliance, unless it is to get that side of the story, due to how alliance players do nothing but complain.
Blizzard can only do so much, would it be so much to ask that you APPRECIATE what they do give you instead of compare it to what horde is getting? I’d love to see alliance get some love, I’d love for them to get decent story, I’d love for them to actually be a worthwhile faction for the player base to play as.
If you are going to get on other’s backs for pointing out how you post could be an issue yet don’t seem to get that how you post helps frame others perception of you, the issue is not with Blizzard or them, it is with YOU!
I think a good first step would be to let the Alliance know that someone at Blizzard is as pro-Alliance as Ion is pro-horde.
Surely there is ONE unapologetic Alliance dev.
If not, then I’ve found the problem.
I don’t see why the voice of thrall would show anything towards the alliance. Imo the fact that he didn’t ignore the alliance all together speaks volumes about his care for them.
I have no problem with Metzen being pro-horde.
MY problem is that there are tons of pro-horde devs and I have yet to hear of a single pro-Alliance dev.
Doesn’t that seem odd?
It was that banner with Anduin driving and Genn hanging his head out of the window. Really cute. She replaced it with another one the same artist did, just with Horde characters and not Alliance.
If Horde is going to pitch a fit over a freaking banner of Anduin and Genn on a roadtrip with Velen in the back seat looking chill, they’re going to have fits about Blizz doing anything to prop up the Alliance.
I’m not the one giving Alliance a bunch of the same Horse mounts, bad racials (go ahead and take a guess what Escape Artist does, it’s sure as hell doesn’t break snares and roots), bad story, asspull allied races like blue elves and cyborg gnomes, lack of agency in story and generally weak story presence overall.
I’m saying metzen is more pro alliance than he is given credit for in this thread, and he was more playing into the voice of thrall than showing his own opinions.
I also don’t understand why there needs to be pro alliance devs, it’s a little odd we haven’t seen one stand out. But why does it matter?
When you have Ion gushing on and on about the Horde in every single interview Forbes or who ever else still cares about WoW, you don’t see a problem with Alliance players never even getting mentioned? Not even by Ion, by anyone?
Really? So you’re saying he’s pro-Alliance???
The guy who coincidentally voiced Thrall, who could have asked anything and had two horde questions?
That guy?
I know this thread is about alliance pride and what have you but I’m going to agree with this post strongly. Finding a guild worth a crap is hard. Finding players that are good enough is hard. The guild finder is worthless. Keeping good players and filtering through bad players is annoying. I wish the game had Proving grounds score matter as a way to prove PvE competence with higher score = better player.
Oh? so they control how you respond? what you think about their games? even if you play or not?
Like I said, Blizzard can only do so much how ever: WE control how we communicate with them, even if we do it through their preferred channels, WE control what we post, WE control if we play or not.
Blizzard has the final say, but it has been shown that we, the players, can influence them at times. So maybe the issue is not completely with them or us but with all involved in the game.
Metzen had gone out wearing Alliance shirts, voiced Varian, and considered Malfurion his favorite character. Metzen was probably one of the least biased people to hold a senior position, though what that says about the WoW team overall is up to you.
Im not sayings he’s all in on alliance, just more pro alliance than he’s given credit for. Personally my tinfoil hat wearing self believes it was a PR stunt to test the waters/tease on bringing thrall back.
