Why should I pay for Elitists content

Pretty much this. Or the folks who think nerfed Torghast is fun.

Just want to point out that since Ion took the wheel this game has became way more accessible to casual players, and I’m not saying that’s a bad thing.

Just because someone was in a guild called ā€œElitist Jerksā€ doesn’t mean they are ā€œeliteā€ or a ā€œjerkā€. I am in no way a fan of Ion, but thinking that he caters to ā€œthe 1%ā€ or ā€œeliteā€ players based on his old guild name is just asinine. I can assure you that $$$$$$$ is a much bigger factor in development than anything else.

I don’t even know why this ā€œelitist vs casualā€ argument even exists. Let the elite players do their elite player things, let the casual players do their casual player things.

To the CASUAL PLAYERS - Stop advocating for changes to slow down the elite players.

Example: ā€œJimbob the super-duper elite mythic raider plays 16 hours a day and is able to grind a reputation to exalted faster than me because I am only able to logon for 2 hours every other day so I think there should be a system in place to slow him down so he can’t get so far ahead of me!ā€

NO.

To the ELITE PLAYERS - Leave LFR alone. If you don’t like LFR, don’t do it! It’s really that simple. Same goes for every other casual activity that you don’t enjoy and have ever advocated for removing.

It’s possible for multiple types of players to exist without trying to ruin the game for one another.

So, your saying it takes more time to balance a dungeon that it does to design it and build its assets?

Cause that all I said.

They don’t make the same dungeon or raid 4 times for each difficulty. They make it once.

Why are you watching Youtube for content on this game? Just play it and enjoy it how you wish. It’s your money.

That argument exists because forum regulars keep telling people ā€œmake your own groupā€, which contributes to the gatekeeping problem.

I know this is a troll post but ill respond anyways.

names please? None of the most high profile youtubers that I know of like Preach, T&E, or Bellular have said this.

no on all accounts. you know damn well the forums would be flooded by casuals talking about blizz gating content.

How does making you’re own group contribute to gatekeeping? Your group your rules. That’s the opposite of gatekeeping.

You think with the amount of whining GD does towards the pug world, players would be flocking to these groups.

Sure, I may not be gatekept. But my group, my rules remember?

Stop defending why the game is bad right now.

It’s a multiplayer game centered around social engagement and player driven experiences. I can’t compel you to be polite. I can’t force your hand to accept an invite. What would you have blizz do?

It used to be. Then times and the world changed. Now the game is bad as an inherit result since Cata onwards, with MOP and Legion being exceptions, but even then they had their share of problems inherited by MMO Purists.

Your spot on. If they did this wow would be put on maintenance.

They are dangerously close, and I don’t want them to be.

But Elitist MMO Purists want it to be.

The actual elites don’t have time to care about LFR.

The ā€œelitistsā€ whining about LFR are usually normal/heroic heroes.

ok soooo…

Elite = good player
Casual = good player who does not have a ample time to invest

Elitist = Someone with a superiority complex, most often identified as a rear end for short.
Casuals = Someone who wants everything to be easy for them and boring for everyone else, they are most often identified as a rear end for short.

Did I get these definitions correct?

Can you please describe for me what an MMO purist is? I’m somewhat confused.

It’s a term he made up to make his silly argument seem more valid.

This ended when crossrealms were introduced. No more having server identity, reputation or sense of community. If you treat someone like a jerk now, no one will ever know. You will never be held accountable. Everyone is anonymous and it has brought with it the worst aspects of human nature

Unfortunately this isn’t entirely true. All of the loot changes in Shadowlands were put in because of the tryhards whining and the changes affect casuals negatively. They are trying to gut the Covenant ā€œchoice mattersā€ decision because they wouldn’t be able to do everything fully optimized at the drop of a hat. :see_no_evil::speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

Insisting that being an MMO is that you are forced to play with other players. The very thing causing the game to be bad.

Got a link to a YouTuber saying casuals are bad and lfr should be removed?, i haven’t seen any.
